Hiking through the Huelma Caves 4 hours

The Campo de Montiel offers a great variety of landscapes, which sometimes combines plain and mountain areas, water areas and dry areas or places with great color contrasts, among other peculiarities. We propose a guided route through these beautiful fields.

The itinerary, which lasts 4 hours approximately, will begin in the Plaza de Alhambra, along the ancient path known as the Camino de Infantes. We will cross the wonderful place of Huelma, where there is the spectacular gorge through which the Cañamares River runs and on the walls of the gorge, caves with signs of having been inhabited in Prehistory.

During this route, we will get to know different natural aspects, such as various types of flora and fauna, river areas such as the Cañamares River or the Azuer, as well as caves. The historical and ethnographic aspects are also very interesting on this route, as we will explore places such as a Roman bridge or old hydraulic mills.

The route can be done all year round and, due to its simplicity, is suitable for all audiences, although you have to keep in mind that the route has an extension of 20 kilometers. Therefore, we advise you Come with comfortable shoes, lunch and water.
