10 things to do in Castilla la Mancha

The land where the most popular work of Spanish literature (El Quijote) was forged, Castilla y La Mancha is not only an unlimited source of culture and historical centers. Its vast grounds give us the opportunity to practice adventure sports as fun as canyoning, canoeing or exciting games of paintball. All this, while we are surrounded by nature and dreamy landscapes.

1. Parachute Jump in Toledo.



Enjoy a privileged view of the city of Toledo whilst parachuting from a plane at 7.000 meters in height. You will be able to sightsee the Cathedral and Alcázar de Toledo. Without a doubt, this experience will stay on your mind for a lifetime.

2. Gliding from Lillo.



Do you think it is possible to fly by plane without being powered by an engine? If you think it is not possible, do not stay with curiosity and go to the locality of Lillo Toledo to feel in your own flesh what it is to fly a plane that is only propelled by the hot air of the atmosphere.

3. Hiking in the Sierra of Castelar de los Bueyes.



Are you looking for a plan to disconnect from the city? Refresh the sight by doing hiking in the Cabañeros National Park. Its different routes, all of them surrounded by the typical Spanish vegetation, will transport to the universe of Quijote. It is a highlight due to its variety, both fauna and flora, the route of the Sierra of Castellar of the oxen.

4. Quad trip through Cuenca.



Move freely through the central highland of Cuenca, whilst riding a quad through its rocky roads, created by the Júcar and Huécar rivers, and contemplate the natural views in which the endless Villalba de la Sierra woodland is the highlight and, if you are lucky, you will watch closelly a roe deer or a bird of prey in its natural habitat.

5. Canyoning in Enguídanos.



Whether you are a fan of the extreme adventures or love to try new experiences, canyoning fit perfectly under both profiles. The conditions that are seen in Las Chorreras (The Slides) of the Cabriel River, in the municipality of Enguídanos are the perfect one for beginners and experts. During the whole route, there will be no lack of ponds, waterfalls and jumps into water. An authentic natural water park!

6. Canoeing in Molina de la Chincha.



A few kilometers from Vadillos Bridge, we found the Molina de la Chincha reservoir. Its calm waters and sights that gvie life (pine trees, maple trees, poplars…) make this small dam the chosen area to carry out a canoe, individually or with family, trip.

7. Segway in Ciudad Real.



Would you like to learn a lot of the culture that inspired The Quijote, in a fun and dynamic way? Maybe, with a Segway route, through the main monuments, buildings and famous streets, is the best option. Easy to drive, you won’t have any problems in reaching the Museum of Quijote, the López Villaseñor useum or the historical Plaza Mayor of Ciudad Real.

8. Balloon ride in Ocaña.



Natural sights, culture and history is what the city of Ocaña evokes. A whole combination of qualities and characteristics that you will appreciate with a calm balloon ride, from where you will sihjsee the Cárdenas Palace, Fuenta Vieja or the splendid Plaza Mayor. Its natural sights won’t be undifferent either.

9. Karts in Alcalá de Júcar.



If you like more the adrenaline, to put into test your limits and abilities behind a wheel, in Alcalá de Júcar you can do it. This small area of the region of Albacete, has a great karts circuit that will make you and your friends to have fun whilst surrounded by the incredible natural surroundings.

10. Paintball in Guadalajara.



Neuralgic center of historical buildings and monuments, that transport you to another era, like the Infantado Palace; Guadalajara is the city that best combines cultural activities with others more given to adrenaline, such as the possibility of a game of paintball. Do not hesitate, if you are in this beautiful city and want to spend a fun day with friends ... the exchange of colored balls is a more than attractive option.
