Spir'It Parapente

Spir'it Parapente is a paragliding school located in Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey, in the hinterland of Grasse (Alpes-Maritimes). We offer tandem paragliding baptisms above the Pre-Alps of the Côte d'Azur. The school also has a paragliding, climbing and caving equipment store.

The baptisms are provided by Jean-Vincent Ducrocq, school manager and instructor holding a professional card. This former national level competitor practices cross-country flying as well as distance flying and aerobatics. It was also he who created the Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey free flight site in 2008.

The site has several takeoffs and landings. For baptisms, the meeting is set at the Chapelle Sainte-Luce on the Chemin de Sainte-Luce, which also serves as a landing site. You will then reach the takeoff on foot in around ten minutes and you will run a few meters as soon as the sail is stable above you.

Our five formulas are distinguished by the duration of the flight and the time of day when they are practiced. The child flight for those under 12 years old and the discovery flight lasting 8 to 12 minutes take place in the calm air of the morning or the end of the day. The thermal flight of 15 to 22 minutes, the thermal over 30 to 35 minutes and the long flight of 45 minutes to an hour take advantage of the mid-day lifts in order to climb higher and go further. The time of the flight also depends on the weight of the passenger, because the heaviest tend to fly in the middle of the day. On request and if the conditions are suitable, you can discover piloting in calm air or ask for a little aerobatics.

The season runs from mid-March to mid-October. Flights depend on the weather and it is up to the passenger to call the day before to confirm the flight and the meeting time. The baptisms follow one another throughout the day, which requires arriving on time. If there are several of you, someone who doesn't steal can take care of the car.
