Discovery paragliding experience 8 to 12 min, Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey

Have you never flown a paraglider and would you prefer to get started in calm air? The discovery flight is designed for this first baptism of 8 to 12 minutes in a two-seater paraglider above Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey, near Grasse, with Jean-Vincent Ducrocq, the instructor who created this free flight site in 2008.

We only offer it in the morning or at the end of the day, when the air remains calm and the flight is gentler for the first time. This duration is enough to discover the sensations of flying while limiting the risk of airsickness, which can appear in sensitive people after around ten minutes. Allow around 50 minutes on site.

It all starts the day before, since it's up to you to call Jean-Vincent to confirm the weather and the time of the flight. On the day of the baptism, you will be welcomed at the Chapelle Sainte-Luce and we ask that you be on time as other passengers are flying after you. You will then walk up to takeoff via a hiking trail of around ten minutes with a light backpack, then the briefing and pre-flight will repeat each step with you.

Takeoff requires a short run of a few meters and departure happens naturally as soon as the sail is stable above you. If the air is really calm, you can ask to take the controls for a few moments to discover piloting. The landing takes place just after the chapel and during the approach the instructor will tell you whether to lift your legs or run a few steps while touching the ground.

Good to know: this flight is reserved for passengers weighing less than 90 kg and children under 12 have their own option with the child flight. You must be able to walk and run without assistance. Skirts, dresses, scarves and long coats or beachwear are not accepted in flight, nor are sports cameras.
