The long flight is the longest formula at the school. You will spend between 45 minutes and an hour in the air with one objective: to go further than during other flights and see the Pre-Alps of the Côte d'Azur from another angle by moving away from the Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey site. To last this long and go further, you need the strongest thermals of the day and the long flight is therefore flown in the middle of the day. Allow approximately 1 hour 30 minutes on site between meeting at the Chapelle Sainte-Luce and landing at the same place, including the climb on foot and the briefing. It is also the most demanding formula in terms of weight, since it is aimed at passengers aged at least 12 who weigh between 50 and 85 kg, compared to less than 90 kg for thermal flights. The duration requires a strong stomach because on such a long flight some passengers feel a sensation close to seasickness. Eat before coming without loading yourself and avoid alcohol. If you are not feeling well, tell the instructor who can shorten the flight and take you back to the chapel. If you come with several people, be accompanied by a person who does not fly and who can take care of the car, which will save you from waiting between two flights since the baptisms come one after the other. For those who have already tried paragliding and want to stay in the air as long as possible, this is the option to choose.
