Full Day Zero to Hero SUP (8-16yrs) at Loch Insh

This session is a spectacular way to try out Stand Up Paddle Boarding and explore the Scottish Highlands; you won't regret trying it!

From building your skills and confidence on the peaceful Loch Insh in Cairngorms National Park to paddling along the stunning River Spey to test your newfound abilities, this is a fantastic adventure both kids and adults will love.

Loch Insh has perfectly calm conditions to help take your skills from zero to hero in a day, so paddlers experienced or not, young and old, are welcome to give it ago. However, this price is only available to children between 6 and 16, you can also check out our adult prices to make it a day well spent paddling with your kids amid the picturesque Cairngorms and Monadhliath mountains.

After being briefed and kitted up by one of our fully certified instructors, it's practice time on the Loch! Your instructor will provide you with a board, paddle, wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet, and SUP leash, then offer some safety instructions on how to use the equipment before teaching you a range of fundamental techniques to help you find control and balance, among other skills.

This introduction will get you ready for the adventure we will then be embarking on along the river that spans 107 miles towards Aviemore, passing through breathtaking mountains, spotting the local wildlife and taking on several challenges that will raise the excitement levels and give you a chance to show off your paddling skills whatever your ability level, the thrilling twists and turn will prove a challenge.

Your experienced instructor will guide you the whole way, delivering expert insights to sharpen your skills and lead you through the session with the confidence to successfully complete it and continue your SUP journey into the future.

Under the tutelage of our passionate, qualified instructors, you will soon find yourself paddling along the famous river spey towards exciting rapids. Your instructor's experience and local knowledge make them perfectly equipped to help pick you up with expert advice to give you the confidence to find the balance necessary to thrive in this session and enjoy your day spent paddling to the fullest.

The river offers plenty of twists and turns that will challenge paddlers with any experience level. The sights are rewards enough, along with the beautiful wildlife you can spot on your adventure, like otters, eagles, and ospreys.

You will be glad to hear that after meeting at Loch Insh Church Car Park and hearing a safety briefing from your experienced instructor, we will provide all the necessary equipment, including helmets, buoyancy aids, wetsuits, leashes, wetsuit shoes, a paddle, and a top-class board.
