THE BEST HIKING TRAILS IN MADRID
1. Camino Schmidt
This is arguably the most famous trail in the Community of Madrid among hiking enthusiasts. The path follows the northern slope of the Siete Picos, starting at the Navacerrada Pass (between Segovia and Madrid) and ending in the Fuenfría Valley. The route is approximately 13 km long and takes around 4 hours to complete.

A perfect family-friendly hike, suitable even for young children. Make sure to bring plenty of water and wear appropriate footwear and clothing—even in summer, remember you’re in high mountain terrain.
