The summer season has come to an end, and now it's time to think about the new season and the activities you can enjoy in the coming months. As expected, we recommend you try adventure sports outdoors, as nature will help you recharge and return to daily life full of energy.
Allcaravan Cabañeros National Park brings you closer to this natural phenomenon so you can witness a full-fledged spectacle. One of the activities they offer to experience this process is hiking, allowing you to live this experience firsthand, just metres away from the main actors.

The last summer storms moisten the ground, forests begin to revive, temperatures drop noticeably, and trees change colour: autumn has arrived. September and October are the months that will host the deer rut, the ideal time to witness it in all its splendour.
Deer are mammals that, during this season, proudly display their enormous antlers, as they are at their peak. At this stage, they are ready to fight other deer in the area to win the largest number of females, as they are in heat and the species must continue.
In March, these animals shed their antlers, and new ones begin to grow almost immediately. They feed on acorns, hazelnuts, chestnuts, walnuts—foods rich in fats and minerals that ensure their antlers are ready by autumn. Meanwhile, the antlers are weak, but by summer, they reach their maximum size and strength.
Listen to the rut at dawn or dusk, as this is when it’s most intense and impressive. Allcaravan offers guided hikes with expert local guides who will answer all your questions. With years of experience in this field, they’ll ensure everything runs perfectly.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and footwear, as you’ll be walking through forests long enough to fully experience the rut. For hiking, we also advise bringing a backpack with essentials: water, snacks, a raincoat, etc.
Rest assured, you’ll have a fantastic time and gain a new perspective on nature. Allcaravan is the ideal company for active tourism in national parks and natural spaces across Spain. Get in touch and don’t miss the rutting season!
