Thanks to its location and its waters, Illa de Arousa is one of the places with the most underwater life in Galicia. At Piragüilla Turismo Activo we want you to discover that marine world and for this we organize the snorkeling activity, so that you can learn the basic notions of this sport and marvel at everything. that the sea hides.

The activity can be carried out in two places: either on the coast of A Illa de Arousa; or on the Islet of Areoso, belonging to the municipality of A Illa de Arousa. In the case of carrying out the activity in Areoso, the access will be via a kayak route through the waters of the estuary, where you can appreciate the environment so characteristic of the area, with the rafts that extend along the Ría de Arousa, and the panoramic views of the Arousa coastline.

For the dive we will provide you with all the necessary material to perform surface diving: goggles, fins, snorkel and a neoprene suit.

Minors can do this activity, since this type of immersion is carried out very close to the surface, although they must always be supervised by an adult.

The Galician mountains and in particular the surroundings of As Rías Baixas, are full of natural beauty, due to its abundant vegetation combined with the sea that surrounds it. The tours are carried out in natural areas and through forests and unique paths:

• Route on Cortegada Island: the starting point will be the port beach and from there you will tour the island enjoying the botanical gardens that are located there, visiting the clam nurseries and getting to know an environment full of of vegetation and animal life. Access to the hiking route on the island of Cortegada is by kayak.

• Route in the Carreirón Natural Park: you will go hiking through the Carreirón Natural Park, an unparalleled place where you can admire the white sand coves that are home to endless varieties of animals. You will also visit the Carreirón Park lagoon and explore the pine forests that grow next to the sea.

• Route through "A Ruta da Pedra e da Auga" in Ribadumia: this is the route that is most difficult since it is the longest and has slopes and unevenness in the terrain that will require a certain agility. On the path that we have designed in Piragüilla Ocio y Aventura you will be able to admire the water mills of Ribadumia, which extend along the river that accompanies the path.

Hiking is an activity that anyone can do, making it an ideal activity to enjoy with your family and friends. Remember that if another area is of interest to you, we can work to create an à la carte route.

Travel through the mountains driving an all-terrain bicycle to enjoy the routes that we propose in a different and very exciting way. The bicycle is the vehicle that best adapts to difficult terrain, which is why we want to organize different activities for you to cross the mountain riding a mountain bike or take a bike tour along the coasts of As Rías Baixas.

At Piragüilla Ocio y Aventura we suggest routes that adapt to your needs:

• Greenway routes: these paths have been specially adapted for cycling through the Galician mountains. You will be able to enjoy the landscape and the wide variety of animals in complete tranquility while practicing your favorite sport. With us you will explore the green routes near the Arousa area and its surroundings.

• Routes through natural spaces: the mountains of Galicia are rich in flora and fauna. Traveling through them by bicycle requires greater skill on this two-wheeled vehicle, but it can still be done by anyone who wants to enjoy nature in a different way.

• Multi-day outings: for the most experts and all those who want to enjoy several days of adventure, we prepare outings that last more than one day. On these excursions you will experience a total connection with nature and enjoy doing sports outdoors.
• Route in A Illa de Arousa: located in the epicenter of A Ría de Arousa, this municipality is characterized by being a place surrounded by nature and maintaining care and respect for the environment. Its sought-after beaches, the Carreirón National Park or the incredible views of the estuary that you can see from the O Santo viewpoint, are just some of the corners that await you on this route through the Arousano town.

At Piragüilla Ocio y Aventura we have organized different routes to explore the A Illa de Arousa area on board a kayak.

We have four routes depending on the characteristics of the area:

• Route to the Areoso islet: get to know the islet, located in the heart of A Ría de Arousa, considered a protected space that you can only access by boat. Surrounded by crystal clear water and fine sand, you will discover curiosities that provide added value to the place.

• Route to the island of Cortegada: enjoy sailing through the waters of the mouth of the Ulla river until you reach the island of Cortegada, today classified as a protected natural space and belonging to the As Illas National Park Atlánticas, which keeps the remains of the ancient town that lived on the island, the great lushness and the different types of forests that are located on it, which make Cortegada a unique place.

• Umia River Descent: enjoy the rapids and waterfalls that are located along the Umia River by kayaking, and turn your day into an exciting and fun day. To carry out the activity it is not necessary to have experience, since it is a safe and simple area.

• Kayak baptism: for those beginners who want to enter the world of water sports, the best thing is kayak baptism, where the little ones can experience the sensation of going in a kayak always managed by instructors. They will also carry out a seashell interpretation workshop, in which they will be able to learn about the mollusks that live in our waters.

If none of our routes convince you, you can propose a new, more or less long route that adapts to your tastes and needs. You can also choose the type of canoe, we will give you the option of doing the descents in a K1 for a single person or in a K2 in which you will be accompanied.
