The answer - Let’s Get Lost! We are a watersports company that knows the benefits of getting out on the water and going with the flow, wherever it takes you. We’ve taken part in watersports all over the world, but there’s nowhere we’d rather be now than back in Leicestershire.

Our base is on the River Soar as it flows north between Leicester and Loughborough. The river is broken up into different channels here, making it the perfect place to go Kayaking. You can glide between reed beds and meadows and complete circular or figure-of-eight loops, never repeating the same section of the river. We also love Paddleboarding which allows you to discover the area while standing up and peering over the vegetation on the riverbanks.

Paddlesports do wonders for your physical health, but we’re just as interested in the mental health benefits. Getting out in nature, discovering hidden beauty spots, feeling the sensation of being on the water and enjoying the community that exists around kayaking and paddleboarding can do you a world of good.

Finding yourself up a creek without a paddle doesn’t have to be such a bad thing.

That’s our philosophy at Let’s Get Lost, anyway, where spending time in natural surroundings is our favourite thing to do. But don’t worry, we are huge fans of Kayaking so we have plenty of paddles! They let us make journeys up and down the River Soar from our base on its banks in Barrow upon Soar.

This is a wonderful part of the Leicestershire countryside. The river flows between green banks, while cows and horses graze in the nearby fields. We have a number of kayaking routes that take advantage of the forking paths of the river,so that you can complete a route without ever passing the same scenery.

It’s possible to take a kayaking trip out on the Soar with one of our expert guides or you can choose a self-guided experience, going at your own pace and maybe stopping on the banks for a picnic. We also run special trips, including paddle-and-paint excursions and trips to local riverside pubs.

We also have Paddleboards available for use, and we put on more specialist events. These include overnight camping trips where we travel to our destination on the water and stag or hen parties with a difference!

Let’s Get Lost is the watersports hub that encourages you to let yourself go and accept what nature gives you. One of the best ways to discover a river is by Paddleboarding, and that’s especially true of the River Soar. It flows between reedbeds and grassy banks, the upright position of paddleboarding allows you to peak over the top and into the rural idyll of Leicestershire.

We run guided and self-guided tours of the river from our base in Barrow upon Soar that take in the twists and turns of the waterways around us. There are also themed excursions, like painting trips and pub visits - all on the backs of paddleboards. Finally, we offer stag or hen party programmes and even paddling trips with overnight stays.

In addition to SUP, we’re super keen on kayaking. Both sports are easy to learn - just sign up for a taster session and you’ll find out - but never get boring. They can take you all over the world and they can also take you on a journey of self-discovery. Once you’ve got the hang of paddling, you’ll never be the same again!
