Kayak Taster Session on the River Soar (5-17yr) 1h

If you’re old enough to hold a paddle, you’re ready to enter the world of watersports.

We welcome children from the age of 5 years old to join their parents on our kayaking taster sessions. We start with safety instructions at the water’s edge, then take the plunge!

You can take little ones with you in a double kayak. If you’re bringing older children or teenagers, up to the age of 17, they can have a go in a single kayak. Don’t worry about bringing your own, we take care of the equipment.

This session takes place on the River Soar in Barrow upon Soar, Leicestershire. This is a charming river, where green meadows come right up to the riverbanks and grazing animals can be spotted in the fields.

Some things are easier than they look.

Kayaking is one of them! If you come to us for a taster session, you’ll find yourself paddling happily in just one hour! One hour is also exactly how long it takes, in our experience, to get hooked on the sport!

There are plenty of places you can try kayaking, but we think the River Soar in Barrow upon Soar, Leicestershire, is one of the best. The water is calm, the riverbanks are lush and green, and there are numerous channels to explore.

We start the activity with a safety briefing and provide the equipment for these sessions. You can take a single kayak and go your own way or pair up with someone in a double kayak.

Children from the age of 5 years old can join a taster session, but they have a discounted price. This price is for adults over 18. Watersports instructors will run the experience from start to finish.
