10 things to do in Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria is the “unfortunate island” by excellence with its paradisiac beaches where you can play with white sand on a territory formed by the black lava due to its volcanic past. In it, you will find all the options to have a great time until morning, like the Inglés beach, next to the others that invite you to enjoy relaxing tourism in the case, for example, San Agustín. If you want to know which are interesting for you, keep this list in your pocket.

1. Natural Roque Nublo Monument visit:



With a guided tour that starts with a stroll through the San Mateo church and a traditional flea market before ascending the Las Nieves Peak. In Roque Nublo, you’ll see the giant monolith of around 70 meters in vertical composed of basaltic rock. Then, rest the sight with the greenery of the pine forests of Los Llanos de la Pez.

2. Watch dolphins and swim in the Güi Güi beach:



You will embark to the west of the island to see one of the privileged virgin coasts of this part of the Canary Islands. Before you go down to swim you will sail across the Atlantic to meet the cetaceans that have their habitat in these waters. You will have the opportunity to see some dolphin swimming in freedom and different varieties of whales.

3. Descend the Caldera crater with a MTB:



You can finally say that you really have ridden a bike by crossing the volcano's crater with the route through the trails that start from San Bartolomé de Tirajana. You will follow a very exotic schedule with the last section flanked by palm trees that will accompany you on your way to the beaches.

4. Escape from jail game in San Bartolomé de Tirajana.



Try to solve the escape room’s riddles in which you are a prisoner that has only one opportunity to escape. There are 60 minutes in your favor in which every little detail can become a crucial clue to achieve your goal and notice again the warm light of the day.

5. Go kayaking through the Taurito coast.



Go out and paddle through one of highest quality beaches near Puerto Rico. Move your paddle at your pace throughout the ocean, without fear to not have what to regain strength because, when you return to the mainland, you have dozens of beach bars and places to eat. You can also get there by bus from almost the entire island.

6. Parasailing in Arguineguín.



Whilst staying in Canarias, you don’t want to be far from the beach you would need to do it to enjoy a aerial panoramic of this location that you will find next to the Las Marañuelas beach. At 70 meters from the ocean surface, you’ll see the surroundings as if it belonged to a postcard of which almost no longer exist.

7. A buggy tour in Mogán.



Drive to the big cliffs whilst enjoying great views that finishes in the Atlantic from this city. You will do it on routes where you can spend the whole day dedicated to tourism because this type of route includes a picnic. Oh! And they will give you to try a smoothie made with local fruits.

8. Flyboarding in Anfi del Mar:



The superheroes are not only the capable ones of flying and rise driven from the feet. Become one of them, at least with the technique, with the sessions at the Barranco de la Verga sports school. It will be enough to dedicate the first 15 minutes to practice it and dare to repeat and for more time and even try several stunts.

9. Go with a jet ski to the Natural Reserve of the Dunes of Maspalomas:



Feel the pleasure of high speed surrounded by the changing landscapes of the south of the island that are transformed by the continuous transfer of the sand carried out by the sea breeze. These excursions continue to Playa del Inglés, one of the most touristy and lively in Gran Canaria.

10. Dare with the rope jump in Las Palmas.



If you see capable of jumping from a bridge, go further and choose rope jumping and jump from the spectacular cliffs of El Puertillo, near Bañaderos. The result of the great emotions and environment, it has no price.
