Kirik Canoeing introduces us to the wonderful world of canoeing through its experienced and qualified guides.

No experience or knowledge of the canoe is necessary, the instructor-guides will be the ones who will train us and prepare us for the use of the boat.

We will begin by learning the different components necessary to make the descent, paddles, canoe or kayak, helmet and life jacket. They will teach us how to paddle, turn, stop and control the canoe at all times, even how to leave if we return without any risk to us.

Once we know the basic operation, we will learn to read the river so that we know at all times where to direct the boat to avoid unnecessary obstacles or obstacles that are too difficult to overcome, and we always choose the most appropriate route for our level.

The activity lasts approximately 2 hours and includes:

• Experienced monitors with an employment contract with S.Social.
• Support vehicle that will go along the river.
• All the necessary material (canoes, vests, paddles and helmet).

We must bring a swimsuit, dry clothing, food and shoes that can get wet. Transportation is not included either, so we will be the ones who organize ourselves to travel to the place where the activity will take place.

Together with the guides who know the hiking routes that you will take, since they are experts who know the terrain and its natural features, we will enjoy visiting Urduliz on foot and ascending to the peaks of Munarrikolanda (255 meters high) and enjoying the dolmens that are found at its summit, and the summit of Peñas (198 meters).

Likewise, we will enjoy the routes and tracks that lead to the Urkiola Natural Park (located in the Ferrería del Abedul), where we can ascend to the top of the 1,331-meter Anboto, where the mother goddess of Basque mythology Mari, known as like the Lady of Anboto.

Two other possible routes run through Plentizia, located on the edge of the last meander of the Butrón River just before its mouth. And finally the route that leads us to Butrón Castle, of medieval origin and its exuberant park with palm trees and exotic species.

NOTE: Now, KIRIK has opened an office on the Galdames greenway and we have bike rentals and guided tours in the area. You also have more than 40 kilometers of greenway and you can visit old forges, furnaces and mineral loading yards in the Las Encartaciones mining area.
