El Ocho Escalada is a climbing school that has its official headquarters in Arico-Tenerife, where it offers various services to the local, national and foreign public in 4 languages.
Some of the services we offer are:
- Climbing courses at beginner and advanced level: this way you can start rock climbing with us or tell us which aspects you need to work on most as a mountain regular.
- Climbing several pitches in traditional and sporty style: we accompany you to learn to tackle various modalities.
- Climbing workshops for children, adolescents and adults: adapting the contents to the vital moment that the student is going through, always taking into account their learning abilities.
- Celebration of birthday parties in nature with recreational activities, incentives for companies.
The team of this school is made up of national climbing technicians, recognized as climbing guides by the Spanish Association of Mountain Guides.

Summary Climbing
At Ocho Escalada we organize workshop-like activities that will allow you to get to know this sport. Thanks to them you will have the opportunity to feel the sensations it transmits and get to know the characteristic volcanic rock of the island of Tenerife. You will be able to learn some basic gestures and safety techniques.
If you have some experience and want to expand your knowledge, we encourage you to create your own climbing workshop according to your needs, choosing from the possible combinations that we offer:
- Gesture techniques, positioning and the balance point to reach during the outings you make.
- safety and progression maneuvers first, establishing a solid foundation before moving on to more complex techniques.
- Learn to belay dynamically and to fall without suffering any type of damage during practice.
- Know how to manage fear in climbing through visualization of the environment. It is also important to internalize how to maintain concentration and the tactic-strategy that you are going to follow until the goal that you have set for yourself on each occasion.
Summary Canyoning
Canyoning is a widely practiced activity on the island of Tenerife, and in general in the Canary Islands. You can find hundreds of possibilities to enjoy this activity, in a unique natural environment.
The vast majority of the ravines are dry, with some having moderate water flow, but this will logically vary depending on the time of year.
We will be able to find ravines of a very varied technical level, low-medium level predominating, with rappels from 10 to 70 meters, making us part of impressive geological formations that, for the most part, lead us to finally enjoy a good dip in the cool waters of the Atlantic.
Instead of offering you specific descents, based on the names of the ravines, we consider a classification by levels more appropriate, from beginner to advanced. This is how we adapt the activity to the group, even if you come with children. In general, they take us at least 6 hours and can take up to 10 hours in the case of the longest sections. We usually meet at 8 a.m. to make sure we have plenty of time to finish it.
