Trekking on the Miraflores Canencia Ecological Trail

We will embark on a walk through unparalleled landscapes and walk along quiet paths while we forget about everything, and the best thing is that the only thing you will have to do to enjoy this trekking route will be to come with comfortable sports clothing and shoes . You will not have to bring or buy anything else, that is the good thing about hiking, it will only be venturing among unique groves without complications and you will not need experience or materials, or even great physical condition, because you will This is a hiking route of easy difficulty.

Our monitor, who will accompany you at all times, will provide you with all the necessary keys so that you can follow the route along the ecological path of Miraflores with ease and without overexertion, while guiding you through the most beautiful nooks and crannies of all . The trekking excursion will begin from the port of Canencia itself, at 1524 meters of altitude. From here we head west along a wide forest track that will lead us to a fence where the exit "officially" begins.

The hiking route along the Miraflores ecological path will be wonderful from start to finish. We will go along paths full of pine trees and we will go along a shallow slope, so the beginning will not only be beautiful, but also enjoyable. We will continue walking and suddenly we will see how the forest acquires whitish tones, since little by little, the most characteristic of these environments will sprout from nowhere, the birch trees, which have a peculiar white trunk .

We continue with our walk down some stone steps until we enter a cool and shady grove due to its orientation. This place is full of shrubs such as heather or juniper. We continue descending along a path through which we will have to cross a stream and after overcoming a curve we will come across some types of trees that will captivate us, the yews, triangular in shape and with very dark leaves, which, in the past, were coveted for making arches.

Immediately afterwards the Miraflores ecological path develops in a straight line and will delight us with a walk in which we will be immersed in a beautiful forest where pines, hollies and yews will embrace us until we reach a crossroads. Here we will have to choose:

• Continue straight and discover the Sestil de Maíllo stream,

• Turn left and discover the waterfall of the stream,

• Or opt for the right to get fully into this forest.

In general, we always choose the last option first, because this fantastic forest is worth getting to know properly and leaves no one indifferent, although of course, it all depends on the day and the group. Even so, later we will retrace our steps to this intersection and take another path.

We will continue our hiking route until we find ourselves immersed in a beautiful pine forest and soon we will see a turn to the right that will take us to see an authentic potpourri of nature, since we will find gigantic holly trees, yew trees, ash trees and birches. After enjoying this beautiful environment enough, we return to the previous intersection and take the path opposite.

This time we will reach the Mojonvalle chorrera, the waterfall from which the Sestil de Maíllo stream is born. From here our hiking route now leads us to the left until we reach the Casa de El Hornillo.
