The one we propose here is an excursion very close to Alcalá de Henares (half an hour from Madrid), in Los Cerros.
It is an area of high value, both ecologically and culturally.
Our guide will show us the two different habitats that we are going to see: the one on the banks of the Henares, and the one in the Mediterranean pine forest.
On this tour we will be able to see Celtiberian and also Islamic settlements. For example, we will see the Arab citadel of Qal'at Abd-al Salam or what is the same, the Salam castle.
We will ascend to the top of Mount Ecce Homo. Here we will discover various legends about this territory. In addition, we will enjoy the views of both the mountains, the Henares corridor, and even the capital.
The guide is a Forestry Engineer and has a degree in Environmental Sciences.
The route can be done any day, and is suitable for all ages. Likewise, it can be adapted to school groups, companies, families, etc.
If you have any special request, you can consult it. We will try to make everything to your liking!
On full moon days, we can start the route at noon, to reach the top of Ecce Homo when it gets dark, and observe the mosaic formed by the lights of each urban center.
