Are you looking for a two-day trekking route in a very unique place? The Ponga Natural Park offers you the spectacular environment and we, the two-day excursion to get to know it.
We will establish the meeting point in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento of San Juan de Beleño, from which we will go to Les Bedules. This is where our route begins on the first day. We will enter the Peloño Natural Reserve, where we will be able to see one of the large beech forests in the area, with an area of about 15 square kilometers. Then we will head to Ventaniella, where a historic farmhouse with a hermitage and meadow is located and where we will stay that night.
The next day we will follow the old trade route between Asturias and León to reach Peña Pileñes. There we will enjoy the most wonderful views of the Peloño Forest and other peaks in the area, such as the western massif of the Picos de Europa. To finish the route we will return to Ventaniella, traveling a total of 24 kilometers.
