Deal overview
Prepared with your own mountain equipment and technical material, you will begin the established program following one of our specialized mountain guides that we will divide into 5 stages and where we will spend the night in each one. them in the corresponding mountain shelters.
- First stage. We will leave from Los Lagos de Covadonga until we reach the Vegarredonda refuge. It will be the shortest route but it will help us adapt to the environment and thus be prepared for the following ones, which will require more of us. In total, we will travel 8 kilometers in an estimated time of 3 hours.
- Second stage. This route will include the itinerary between the Vegarredonda refuge and the Vegabaño refuge. There will be a total of 16 kilometers with which we will reach points such as Llampa Cimera, Jou de las Pozas... until finally reaching the Vegabaño refuge. Without a doubt, the hardest section but perhaps the most beautiful. During the tour you will enjoy a lunar landscape. We will do it between 8 and 9 hours.
- Third stage. We will leave the shelter to head towards the town of Caín. Although we will also complete a distance of 16 kilometers, this stage is more comfortable. There will be a section in which we have to walk through a beech forest, located in the beautiful valleys of Sajambre and Valdeón. Time: 6 hours.
- Fourth stage. The objective will be to reach the Vega de Ario refuge after a route of 6 kilometers and an approximate time of 5 hours. Through its paths you will enjoy the splendid landscapes that make their way to the Collado de las Cruces and thus, finally, reach the refuge.
- Fifth and last stage. It will take us to the Buferrera parking lot. The route will be 8 kilometers and will be practically downhill. Now, relaxed, we can enjoy the views of the spectacular Central massif.
