10 things to do in Asturias

With hundreds of kilometers of coastline bathed by the Bay of Biscay, the impressive peaks of the Picos de Europa, infinite trails in which a resplendent green predominates and a unique gastronomy, in Asturias you can do anything but get bored. To give you an idea of where to start, we make a list of the essentials:

1. Eat “cachopo” after a guided tour through Oviedo:



Pass the morning getting hungrier and hungrier whilst strolling through the historic neighborhood of Cimadevilla and reach the Salvador Cathedral, with symbols of Asturias capital. Then, compensate all your effort with the stuffed fillet for which you will not find the comparison anywhere else in the world.

2. Visit a cider cellar in Villaviciosa:



The “cachopo” is watered down with the best cider, Asturian of course. If tasting it you have been stung by the curiosity to know how it reaches your glass, join a visit to one of its main wineries in Onón.

3. Go canoeing from Arriondas to Sella:



Even if you are only a spectator during the days of this international event, this famous river is there for you, giving you the opportunity to sail it in a full stretch of 15 km, or half, if you want something lighter. You can even bring your dog!

4. Enjoy a Segway route through the Infierno cliffs:



The surroundings of Ribadesella will surprise you with amazing views from these cut into the rock. Get on the two wheels of these electric vehicles with the peace of mind that you are not contaminating a unique space that the erosion of the waves has taken millennia to create.

5. Ride a horse through the Oleiros cove, in Lamuño:



Get into a scenario of contrasts between sea and mountain riding relaxed. There are very simple routes that you can follow even with children from 6 years old.

6. Hike through the Ubiñas National Park with snow rackets:



Feel the pleasure of stepping on the white blanket right in the center of the Cantabrian mountain range with the help of specific equipment for winter. You'll have it on hand from the council of Teverga and you just have to wrap up a bit more than usual.

7. Navigate through the Llanes cliffs with a paddle surf session:



Change the means of moving and help yourself with the sup material to follow a comfortable guided tour along the coast of one of the towns with the best beaches in the principality. Only this way you will reach corners that it is impossible to reach walking.
b>8. Overfly the coast of Gijón with a light aircraft from La Morgal:

By flying, you will get a global vision of the Asturian coastline and you will have the opportunity to take panoramic pictures worthy of presiding over any room.

9. Travel across the Senda del Oso by bike:



Pedaled by the old mining route that was established between the councils of Quirós and Teverga, today converted into a greenway of great beauty. Its name honors the most characteristic species of Asturias and you will meet it passing through the place where the rescued cubs Paca and Tola were raised.

10. Go jet skiing through Costa de los Dinosaurios:



For some, it is the least known detail of the region but the most admired giants of all time left their mark on this territory very close to the sea. Take a look at a jet ski to the same places that watched the dinosaurs millions of years ago.
