Ur-Bizia we are a company dedicated to mountain activities and sports for 25 years. Our base is located in NIVE (Bidarray). We offer you to come and meet us and enjoy with us a unique experience with some unforgettable moments in the wonderful waters and mountains of the Basque Country.

All our activities will be directed and controlled by our professional guides, experts in the field where they take place. The guides will also play the role of monitor to give the appropriate advice and instructions for the development of the activity without setbacks.

If you are coming to visit us and you are not from the area, we also offer stays located in Bidarry so that you can combine the activity with the peace of mind of not having to travel. This will keep you in contact with nature throughout your stay. We carry out three types of descents to choose from:

1.Raft Camp: consists of a descent through wild waters plus 1 night camping. The activity is for ages 12 and up.
2. Descent: it will be done in white water. Clients choose the activity (kayak, rafting, hydrospeed). The activity is for ages 6 and up.
3. Day: We will make two descents in which you choose the variant. The activity cannot be carried out for children under 12 years of age.

You can enjoy this experience with friends, family, co-workers, school excursions,... Take advantage of your vacation or weekend and come visit us.

Summary Kayaking

Ur-Bizia offers you a unique experience in the Nive Valley (Basque Country) of canoeing in the rapids and white waters of Bidarray. It is one of the best areas to practice this sport nationwide, already on the border with France.

Canoeing is a complete sport and very fun to practice, in every sense. We will do class 2 (medium level) river rafting, but don't be scared! It is a difficulty that you will be able to tackle comfortably. For this we have experienced and very professional guides because safety is the main thing in our activities. The instructor will carry out the route simultaneously while giving advice to clients for a problem-free descent.

This boat is made for one occupant and its weight is minimal, so it will be able to reach high speeds, handle the kayak well and do extreme maneuvers if you are capable. You will wear a helmet, provided by us, in addition to the neoprene suit that will make the water temperature so cold, a double paddle and a vest for your protection.

Summary Rafting

If you have never done a whitewater water sport and you are dying to try it, rafting is the sport you have been looking for. It is one of the adventures with which you will feel the speed and strength of the rapids the most. You will experience incredible sensations on a fun trip into the river.

We do the tour in the Nive Valley where you can also admire and learn about the fauna and flora landscapes of the area. All our guides are experienced and trained and you will be directed by them at all times. They will explain some concepts about safety and give you advice to make a safe and enjoyable descent, which is the most important thing.

Rafting is a sport that consists of teamwork and where each person on the boat is important. The boat we use is unsinkable pneumatic and has capacity for up to 10 people depending on the size of each of the rafts.

Splashes are more than guaranteed, so your shoes and clothes must be able to get wet without problem. We will deliver the helmets, paddles and other technical elements to you at the school.

Summary Hydrospeed

Hydrospeed is a relatively new aquatic activity and with which you will live a different experience since you have never descended white water into the water, instead of on it. This activity is very simple. It consists of leaning on a board, with a series of modifications that turn it into a kind of sled. Once supported on the board we will use our legs equipped with fins as a motor to have enough strength to propel ourselves and gain speed.

All our guides are qualified and have extensive experience in this type of activities. We provide you with all the necessary material, so you only need to bring a swimsuit, slippers or booties, since you are going to be completely immersed.

In the water, as you advance, you will find landscapes, ravines and cliffs that will become the protagonists of the tour. To be able to attend and enjoy this experience in the waters of the north of the peninsula, you do not need any knowledge of the sport, nor an incredible state of physical fitness, it is only essential that you be able to swim.

Access: 1 - A63 motorway exit No. 5 'Bayonne Sud', direction St Jean Pied de Port. 2 - Follow Ustaritz > Cambo les Bains > Itxassou > Louhossoa on the rd 918.3-5 km from Louhossoa, it is Bidarray.
