Company Overview
Formar gives its name to the Maritime Training Center of the Principality of Asturias. Through our headquarters in Gijón we work to fulfill the objective of teaching new professional divers who are qualified to develop their functions within the new and traditional services requested by this market.
The team in charge of teaching is made up of people from areas such as biology, the field of medicine and the diving itself. They all have as a common link their connection with the sea, which serves as a vehicle to transmit their knowledge to new students in:
- Sport diving: we teach everything from the most basic qualifications, such as underwater baptisms, to specialties as specific as diving Nitrox and Rebreather programs. Normally groups of a minimum of 4 people are organized for this purpose. Dates and requirements are communicated with enough time in advance, so that you can organize without problems.
- Professional diving: with courses aimed at introducing its participants to the labor market. These include the "shallow depth diver" and the "marine resource collector." We want you not to

I went with a friend to try out diving in Gijón and we were delighted.
We really wanted to try it and from the beginning we felt comfortable: the instructor explained everything clearly to us before entering, how to breathe, how to balance our ears, the signals to communicate underwater...
At first we practiced in a shallow area and, when we became more comfortable, we went a little deeper. Seeing the bottom of the Cantabrian Sea from the inside is another world, I didn't expect so much life.
The time flew by. What I liked the most is that we didn't feel rushed at any time, and that we were a small group, so the instructor was attentive to each one.
The material was in good condition and they helped us with the neoprene, which we already know how hard it is to put it on, haha. If you are curious, I encourage you to try it.
My friend and I are already thinking about getting the title.
