Company Overview
The Coniston Shooting Ground is based on the Coniston Estate near Skipton, which has 1400 acres of superb land to practice a variety of sports on. We are in the very heart of the stunning North Yorkshire Dales and headed by Peter Manley. The ground is run by a team of experienced and highly qualified shooting instructors and staff.
You will find us just off the A65 Skipton to Settle Road and our site allows for some of the most challenging and interesting clay pigeon shooting and target archery practice.
The ground is CPSA Premier Plus ranked, making it one of the best grounds in the UK. We offer modern facilities such as a log cabin clubhouse, complete with shop, conference room and it’s very own catering facility.
We cater for all levels of experience at The Coniston Shooting Ground. We supply a gun, safety instruction and an instructor for beginners, allowing them to gain a basic grounding in the fundamental shooting skills.
We aim to get everyone hitting at least 50% of the clays by the end of their session. Whether you are looking to join us for a days shooting, a corporate event or to become a member of our grounds, a warm welcome is always guaranteed.

Summary Archery
Welcome to The Coniston Shooting Ground Archery. All of our instructors have been trained by world champion coaches, making them experts in their field. They have developed a coaching method that enables students to learn quickly, hit targets and score right from the start.
You will work on your balance, poise, accuracy and timing with us, in order to develop the fundamental skills required for this ancient sport.
We use the latest in high velocity bows you can enjoy archery from the bays of our purpose built range, whatever the weather conditions!
We invite you to add a competitive edge to your game by competing against other members of your party in a friendly archery tournament.

Summary Clay Pigeon Shooting
Welcome to The Coniston Shooting Ground Clay Pigeon Shooting. We offer a range of shooting disciplines at our grounds for members and non-members alike. These include:
- Compaq
Our Compaq traps combine 6 traps and give single, on report and simultaneous pairs. Up to 5 people at one time can compete against each other.
- Down the line
This is one of the oldest of the shooting disciplines. There are 5 different firing positions, shooting 5 cartridges from each.
- Skeet
This is one of our most popular disciplines; 2 shots are fired horizontally across the range from 2 different sized housings.
- Flush
We break the groups into smaller teams between 4 or 5, each group asigned a different instructor, and they circulate around multiple traps to test different shooting skills. It´s always a surprise to see who comes out on top!
Our target clays simulate high birds, rabbits, springing teals and much, much more. For game shooters, we have recently built an 86 ft tower, which houses several traps from which are high birds are thrown.
