Prompt Start and induction. Immediate concerns about being told we didn;t need bother wearing helmets, as we had never ever kayaked before but had read that this was a Health and Safety requirement incase you fell in the river and hit your head on rocks or whatever was lurking at the bottom of the river.

Older instructor good and inspired confidence however the group were preparing for a weekend away in Scotland so a younger lad took over. Poor teaching, ridicule being the main approach. Reapedly picked up on the negative things we were doing but not showing us how to correct them.

Staff member showing off seemed to be the main purpose of the afternoon we had paid for telling us about how expensive his equipment was - how shoddy ours was! Constantly bragging about his qualifications, whatever we said; he had one bigger; better; done it quicker; faster! Tiedious!!

The arrival of a Young female spectator saw him step up his showing off a gear belittling every stroke of our novice efforts. We were ready to knock him into the water after 30 minutes let alone 3 hours!

Would never recommend the Aldwalk Centre to anyone wanting to learn and it is a sad and very disappointing first introduction to Kayaking !!!Spoilt Birthday!!

It was a very good day enjoyed every minute. Would recomend it to every one to have a go.
