WithCoyote Canyon Adventures Horseback Riding you have the option of three types of tours: half-day (5h), full-day (8h) and camping (30h).

There is a minimum of 4 people for horseback riding excursions. If your group is smaller, you can join another group (if available) or you can privatize the excursion. All excursions include transportation to and from San Miguel. The cattle ranch where the excursions begin is located 30 minutes from the city. To reach it, you will see in the distance the pyramid of the Cañada de la Virgen Archaeological Site, inaugurated in February 2011.

The half-day excursion will take you to the plains that border the canyon and its stunning landscapes. The horseback ride lasts about 2 and a half hours with exciting descents to the bottom of the ravine, gallops and some rest. Going up the canyon, you will have the opportunity to rappel down its impressive 50-meter cliffs. Finally, a delicious traditional homemade meal will be waiting for you. The menu includes comal tortillas, fresh ranchero cheese and organic beans from the same ranch, quesadillas, nopales, rice, fresh sauces, guacamole and salad.

The full-day horseback riding excursion is ideal for spending a family day at the ranch. They begin learning the daily tasks of life there, seeing how milking is done and making delicious ranchero cheese with fresh milk. The little ones enjoy collecting eggs, playing with the sheep and other animals. The horseback excursion follows more or less the same route as the half-day one, but since you have more time you will be able to herd the cattle, swim in the river and explore caves and paths that are impossible to reach on horseback.

For a truly sensational cowboy adventure we suggest the camping excursion (30 hours). This adventure includes all of the above plus horse racing, cattle roping classes, and an evening camp bonfire. You will have the option to participate in an authentic traditional temazcal, ride under the stars, and go on a sunrise horseback ride. All necessary equipment is included so that you have a comfortable camp and a good night's sleep.
