This is a snowshoe route to Lago Ausente, a spectacular lake that, with the cold, becomes a glacier and offers spectacular views. Stunning views of the mountains of the Picos de Europa. It is located near the Puerto de San Isidro, in the Riaño and Mampodre Mountain Regional Park and is at an altitude of 1740 meters.
On this route through the Picos de Europa Natural Park, you will cross the Isoba River and ascend to a glacier formed by the peaks Ausente and Requejines, from where you can observe the majestic Ausente Lake. It will be a special moment, where you can appreciate the beauty of this corner between the mountains and see the Cantabrian Sea in the background.
Throughout the almost 3 hours of the route, you will be guided at all times by our experienced guides, who will also be in charge of providing you with the necessary material strong> for the activity and they will teach you the key techniques to be able to successfully handle snowshoes. Although no previous experience is necessary to take this excursion, you do need to be over 18 years old.
*We recommend bringing: comfortable clothing, mountain shoes, gloves, warm clothing, water, snacks, sun protection and sunglasses.
