Deal overview
We have paddleboarding equipment available for hire in one of the best locations for this sport in the country. Longholme Island is in the centre of Bedford on the Great Ouse. It’s part of the stunning Victorian embankment as is the perfect starting point for a SUP trip.
From here, you can paddle downriver towards Cardington Lock. You’ll pass riverside meadows, parks and habitats for birds and other wildlife. This is the price for 1 hour, enough time to get to the lock and back if you’re keen, or simply to enjoy the immediate surroundings.
When you arrive, one of our team members will talk you through the route and the use of the equipment, but it’s a calm stretch of water so you don’t need a guide or previous experience. Children from the age of 12 are welcome to join groups that include adults (over 21 years of age).
You’ll be given the board and a paddle, a buoyancy aid, a dry bag and a map to help you navigate. Don’t forget to bring your camera!
