It’s an opportunity to travel downstream, experiencing a slower pace of life and the natural beauty of the River Ure. Best of all, we can welcome kayaking beginners, as well as water sports experts.
It’s a full-day event which starts at our base in Boroughbridge. We provide transport to Ripon where we’ll go over the safety and correct usage of equipment before launching into the Ripon Canal. The canal takes us to the river, where we can stop to enjoy a picnic (please pack one!), before continuing between the green banks to Boroughbridge.
We have changing facilities and showers at our HQ. We also provide all the equipment, from kayaks and paddles to safety equipment that will keep you comfortable when in the boats.
The paddle from Ripon to Boroughbridge takes about 5 hours. Factor in another hour for the initial journey and preparation and it’s 6 hours in total.
The River Ure has a broad, clam channel. With the help of our expert guides, it’s very easy to navigate. Even children of 12 years old and up can handle it.
