Caving in Cueva del Burro, León level 1

Enter the underground world with our caving route through the Burro Cave, in the province of León. It is the perfect opportunity to introduce yourself to the activity of caving thanks to the simplicity of this wonderful route. 

The Donkey Cave, or also known as Barrier Cave is located in Vegacervera, just 40 minutes from the Leonese capital. This is a cave ideal for beginners as it has dry, single-level cavities with a length of up to 500 meters. It will be an experience where you will learn about the underground world and explore spectacular cavities.

Located in the Los Argüellos Biosphere Reserve, this wonderful cave will give you the opportunity to admire karst formations such as stalactites, stalagmites, lava flows and microlakes. You will travel through underground rivers with crystal-clear waters as you go under the mountain and you will rappel down underground waterfalls of more than 10 meters. 

The narrow passages and catholes will make you discover rooms and galleries more than 60 meters high and will bring out your most adventurous and brave side. Don't worry if you don't have experience, our experienced guides will give you a little technical talk and help you with the basics of caving. 

To carry out this activity successfully, it is important that you come prepared with mountain shoes that can get wet, comfortable clothing, swimsuit and towel. The rest of the materials such as the helmet and wetsuits will be provided by our specialized monitors. It will be a 2 to 4 hour route so put on your boots and come enjoy a unique adventure through the Donkey Cave.
