Night in the Hobbit house for two with breakfast in Rocca Grimalda

If you want to give a gift to those who have read The Lord of the Rings more than once, we offer you a night for two in the Hobbit house in the Garden of Elanor in Rocca Grimalda, with breakfast included the next morning. We built the house by recreating the environments of Tolkien's stories, and as a couple you will have it all to yourself.

The arrival is the part you remember most. The garden is enclosed by a wooden fence with a gate, and as soon as you pass through it you will walk along a stone path between the flower beds to the large round door. Next to it there is an old bench where you can sit before entering.

Inside you will find a single large room under a domed ceiling reminiscent of a volcano, with a double bed, fireplace and bathroom with shower. There is also a bunk bed designed for families, which remains free for a couple. The rooms are separated by curtains instead of doors, and the house is completed by a fake stone cave where you can listen to the film's soundtrack. Hot water and heating are available all year round, so you can sleep well even on winter nights when the garden is covered in snow.

Dinner is your choice. You can take it with you and eat it in the room next to the house where there are tables, or go up first to the center of Rocca Grimalda, the medieval village of the Mask Museum. Here every year the Lachera returns, one of the oldest popular carnivals in Italy, which parades like a wedding procession amidst snaps and tinkling of bells.

In the morning breakfast is served in the adjoining room, also decorated in a theme. You find it sweet and it only becomes savory if you ask us in advance. Then the day is free for the spas of Acqui Terme about 17 kilometers away, or for a car ride among the hills and vineyards of Alto Monferrato.
