4x4 tour to Picos de Europa and the Cares Route

This adventure that we have planned is a delight and you will not want to miss it under any circumstances, since it is one of the best ways to get to know one of the most spectacular natural symbols of Spain, the Picos de Europa >. We are talking about exploring these environments with a 4x4 tour, with which we will discover not only this place in depth but also the historic Cares Route, a path carved between the mountains at the beginning of the 20th century to unite the towns of Posada de Valdeleón and Poncebos.

Our 4x4 route through the Picos de Europa and the Cares Route will begin from the Asturian town of Cangas de Onís. From here we will begin a trip that will take us to visit some of the most impressive points of this park and when we finish we will go to Caín de Valdelón, in León, so that you can begin with your account the Cares hiking route. When you finish this marked route, which will only cost you to go in a straight line, we will be waiting for you at the end of the route to take you back to your accommodation.

For this 4x4 excursion between Asturias and León you will not have to worry about anything, since you will not need to make a large deployment and it will not be necessary to buy, get or know anything for the occasion, you only need comfortable clothing, sports shoes, water and we recommend you come with a good camera or device. The rest is on us, although pay attention to the time of year you decide to do it; If it is during the winter season, make sure you come well dressed; if it is during the summer, it will be necessary to come with a hat and sunscreen.

Having said that and with everything clear, let's start with the important thing... What will this 4x4 route through the Picos de Europa be like? Well to sum it up in one word; a spectacle. We will start very early to make the most of this 4x4 excursion and enjoy this exciting hiking route. At 9:45 in the morning we will pick you up in Cangas de Onís or in Arriondas. When we are together, we will go to the Leonese town of Caín de Valdeleón where we can say that the tour of the Picos de Europa itself "officially" begins.

On our way we will visit the hidden town of Oseja de Sajambre, which is located shortly before reaching Caín. We will tour this town that is immersed in a valley covered with vegetation and we will visit some of its most symbolic natural points, such as the spectacular Mirador del Tombo or theChorco de los Lobos. In the first point we will enjoy an enclave that will give us views of the Picos de Europa that silences even the most traveled traveler and in the second place we will discover the ancient and ingenious traps that the shepherds used to hunt wolves

We will get lost along countless trails enjoying views that make your skin crawl until we suddenly arrive at Caín to begin the Cares Route. At this moment you will get out of the vehicles and on your own you will enter the mountains of the Picos de Europa to walk along these paths with so much history. You will be on the edge of cliffs hundreds of meters high and you will have before you truly privileged views of this place, so much so that you can only taste them this way, any other way does not do them justice.

For approximately 4 hours you will travel this winding path that runs through the heart of the Picos de Europa and you will contemplate panoramic views of its colossal mountains and the Cares River that completely reconstitute.
