Adventure sports are an excellent way to live life to the fullest, to seize the moment and enjoy every second as if it were your last. Which one do you practice?

If you're still undecided and haven't settled on a specific activity – or conversely, if you're already an expert in one discipline – now's the time to explore other possibilities. Here we present different types of adventure sports that are truly original.

 Who wouldn't like to fly?

  • Wingsuit
One of the most spectacular and astonishing aerial sports, but why? Those who practice it genuinely know what it means to fly. It's an extreme sport that goes beyond skydiving, as participants leap into the void from a plane or cliff wearing an "aerial suit" (wingsuit) that mimics a bird's wings: it has three wings (one on each arm and another between the legs) with channels that circulate air, increasing resistance during descent.

The speed these flyers can reach may approach roughly 200 km/h, so this is no trivial matter. There are even world records pointing to 280 km/h.

To practice this sport, it's crucial to be a specialist in skydiving and B.A.S.E. jumping. If you fancy trying it, we recommend first taking a skydiving course before daring to experience what flying truly feels like. Find more info here.

  • Snow Towing
We previously wrote an article about what snow towing is, but we couldn't leave it off this list. A freestyle discipline born as the perfect combination of wakeboard and snowboard – essentially, it uses snowboarding as a base, but the rider is attached to a rope (cable-ski) that allows for tricks, mid-air stunts and acrobatics at any desired speed.

 About to do snow towing

If you're someone who enjoys sports that stand out from the crowd, don't wait any longer and give this one a go. While there's still snow on our slopes, you could specialise in snow towing and get ahead of summer to become a wakeboard expert too. Two sports for the price of one, with guaranteed thrills all year round.

Do you know snow towing?

  • Heliskiing
Snow sports enthusiasts will have heard of this activity more than once, as it's been practiced in many ski resorts since the '60s. But for those unfamiliar, what exactly is this sport? It's the fusion of skiing + helicopter flight. Simply put, a skier boards a helicopter that takes them to peaks inaccessible by any means other than air, then drops them onto slopes of untouched powder snow.

 Heliskiing

An experience worth trying, especially if ski resorts drive you mad. Where can you do it? In Spain, you'll find companies offering it in the Pyrenees, while internationally, destinations like Switzerland and Canada are ideal.

  • Speed Riding
Another snow-based sport is speed riding, which combines skiing and paragliding. How did it begin? Its origins trace back to the French Alps around 2003, where skydivers and paragliders who also knew how to ski came together.

They had the brilliant idea of merging both disciplines, and today several companies specialise in teaching it. Anyone with an intermediate skiing level can try it, as one key requirement is feeling comfortable on skis and knowing the necessary manoeuvres during snowy descents.
