Are you going canyoning? Follow all the tips we propose below to keep everything under control.

2. Think about your clothing and other gear. You should leave home with sunscreen, mountain footwear that can get wet... The rest of the technical equipment is usually provided by the company you trust: wetsuit, helmet, harness, carabiners, ropes, neoprene socks, gloves...
3. Check the weather forecast before leaving home and don't take risks if the weather is expected to worsen or if it has rained in recent days, as this can cause rising water levels.
4. Find out about the characteristics of the canyon: pools, rappels, siphons, length, approach, escape routes in case you need to abandon the route... There's nothing better than being certain before descending the canyon, as depending on the difficulty level you may or may not be prepared.
5. Don't do the activity alone: it's better to go with others and, moreover, inform someone close to you that you'll be doing the activity in a specific area and give an estimated time of departure/return.

7. Organise the activity so that it starts reasonably early: if any unforeseen issues arise and it gets dark, solving them will be more difficult.
8. If you have no prior experience, contact a specialised canyoning company. They will have qualified instructors who will guide you through the route and explain how to use the equipment.

Canyoning is a nature sport, so it's always advisable to respect the environment by leaving the mountain exactly as you found it.
Moreover, if you're passionate about this sport and practice it often, we recommend considering joining a federation or getting involved with a mountaineering club that shares your passion.

Now that you know everything needed to descend canyons, don't hesitate to try it! It's great fun, an adrenaline rush, and undoubtedly one of the best ways to experience nature and share some hours with your loved ones if you wish.
