Sicilia Sail Velaorganizes Sailing Courses for all those who want to approach this fascinating discipline.

The courses are carried out by 2 qualified instructors authorized in the Gulf of Palermo with sailing boats measuring between 7.5 meters and 15 metres.

Each course includes 10 lessons of at least 3 hours each and the theory is carried out during boat trips. The courses are organized into three levels:

• Basic course (1st level) ideal for those who have no experience in the world of sailing

• Intermediate course (2nd level) designed for those who have already attended the basic course or who have a minimum experience

• Advanced course (3rd level) for all students who have passed the first two courses or who have a good knowledge of sailing cruisers

In the various courses topics of considerable interest will be touched upon, moving from sailing notions to navigation and vessel planning, learning how to set the sails and how to carry out mooring maneuvers in the port.

The students will also learn how to anchor in the harbor and offshore and night navigation techniques, as well as carry out any on-board maintenance and repairs that may be necessary.

Finally, we will touch on safety issues, from precautions to take in case of bad weather at sea to how to deal with emergencies. The course includes elements of first aid and knots.
