18 Nudos Surf Club

In Salobreña you will find one of the most prestigious nautical schools in all of Andalusia, 18 Nudos. We teach surfing, kitesurfing and windsurfing courses, we also do stand up paddle surfing and kayaking routes.

We are in the Punta del Río Spot in Salobreña, Granada, on the Tropical Coast. The microclimate of the area, the paradisiacal beaches and the frequent wind from the east or west, make this enclave perfect for beginner surfing and its derivatives.

One of the activities that we most recommend for beginners are the SUP and kayak routes, discovering the most beautiful corners of the Tropical Coast of Granada. These modalities are the ones that are learned first because they allow you to ride on the board standing up, or in the simplest boat that exists comfortably seated. If the waters remain flat, in the absence of waves, you will have a very easy time taking part in these excursions even if the sea is not exactly your usual environment. The crossing time is usually 2 hours.

The best way to get to know the Costa Tropical in depth is to take a kayak route with 18 Knots. These are routes that depart fromCantarriján in an easterly direction to Málaga or in a westward direction through theMarro Cerro Gordo Natural Park.

• Cueva de las Palomas, a tour through stone coves that are inaccessible on foot, and that take us to the cliff of La Torre and the Cueva de Las Palomas.
• Cala de las Doncellas, we will go to the province of Málaga to discover paradise caves and coves where we can take a bath in its crystalline waters.

The routes are guided, in groups and are done in two-seater kayaks. The itinerary to follow will depend on the weather conditions and the wind, depending on whether it blows from the east or west.

The excursion lasts 2 and a half hours, is of low difficulty and can be done from 8 years old.

On the Costa Tropical you can enjoy the best conditions for kitesurfing. The microclimate and the constant east or west winds guarantee the best practice of sailing sports.

18 Nudos is a school in Salobreña that teaches kitesurfing courses in different spots in the area.Initiation, this is a learning program of 3 days lasting 4 hours.

Advanced, a reinforcement day for those who already control the handling of the board and the sail, you can attend improvement courses taught by professional teachers.

The course includes all kitesurfing material and neoprene. This type of program is available between the end of June and the beginning of September, taking advantage of the main summer months.

The Granada coast is one of the best areas where you can practice this sport. If you are a kite fan and you are on vacation in the area, you can rent all the material at our school, you will not need to carry with the board and the sail on the trip.

The Tropical Coast hides hundreds of secrets among its beaches and coves, which is why from 18 Nudos we want to bring you closer to the caves and cliffs of the Maro-Cerro Gordo Natural Park. These are guided group routes where each user can navigate on an individual board. You can choose between two routes:

• Cueva de las Palomas: We will leave from Cantarriján towards the La Torre cliff, a route that takes us through inaccessible coves and ends in the Las Palomas cave, a spectacle for its crystalline waters .
• Cala de las Doncellas, also starts from Cantarriján, but in the opposite direction. We will enter Malaga territory, where we will visit a small cave in which access must be done lying down, and once inside we will reach a huge vault 2 meters high and 15 square meters. The route continues through Cala de Las Doncellas, discovering reddish sands, pine forests, mountain goats and turquoise waters.

And by doing the route with 18 Knots, at the end you will be able to enjoy a meal at the La Baraja restaurant with a special discount for our clients.
