Volcanic ULM
Company Overview
Volcanic ULM organizes first flights in a tilting ULM over Auvergne, departing from the Maringues ULM base in the Limagne plain (Puy-de-Dôme). Christophe Boucher, pilot and tilting instructor, takes you on a flight and also gives lessons at our flight school, which leads to the ULM tilting pilot's license.
We fly on a DTA Feeling 912S, a French-made travel tilting ULM equipped with a 100 horsepower Rotax engine. It travels between 60 and 120 kilometers per hour, lands on short runways and offers the passenger a 360-degree field of vision. As it is a two-seater, you will be alone on board with the pilot. The device is checked before each flight and carries a pyrotechnically activated parachute intended as a last resort.
The base is located at a place called Grand Prouilhat, about twenty minutes from Riom and half an hour from Clermont-Ferrand. This associative base located in the countryside has a reception chalet, parking and a 380-meter grass track. To reach it from the center of Maringues, follow the D12 for one kilometer towards Pagnant and turn left at the sign. You can come accompanied.
We fly all year round in good weather with peak season from April to October. Our circuits follow the Allier river above Limagne or climb towards the Gour de Tazenat and the north of the Chaîne des Puys.
