One-hour flight in a tilting ULM at Gour de Tazenat

Head northwest from takeoff from Maringues for this flight of approximately one hour in a tilting ULM, the longest we offer. The planned circuit takes you to the north of the Chaîne des Puys and to the Gour de Tazenat, a perfectly circular volcanic lake in Combrailles located north of Clermont-Ferrand.

As it is cold at altitude even in summer, bring a fleece or softshell in the summer and a ski suit with gloves and suitable shoes in winter. Leave the long scarf at home because of the propeller and tie your hair up if it is long. We only take off without gusts of wind or fog.

During the climb, the ULM goes from 300 to 1,500 meters in altitude while crossing the Limagne fault, more than twice as high as our discovery flight which follows the Allier at around 700 meters. You will discover the Clermont area and the towns of Riom and Châtel-Guyon, as well as Volvic and the Château de Tournoël which dominates the town.

Above the Gour de Tazenat, the Chaîne des Puys stretches before you from north to south with the Puy de Dôme in the background, more or less clear depending on the mist of the day. To the north lies the Sioule valley. The return is due east towards Maringues facing the Livradois massif, until landing on our grass runway.
