10 things to do in Toledo

Toledo is the City of the Three Cultures and thousand faces. You just need to get here to discover the different adventures offered, that can only take place in its antique streets, and extreme sports throughout the sights that Toledo’s woodlands can only provide. Also, its excellent location in the center of the peninsula which maintains this place as the first reference for some of the most famous activities. Start now and enjoy new experiences in this Greco land with this long list, full of ideas:

1. A guided tour through the monuments of Tres Culturas:



Presume that you know the history of the capital of Castilla La Mancha, after following a guide up to the Santo Tomé church, the Santa María La Blanca synagogue, and the Cristo de la Luz consecrated mesquite. With this tour, you will enjoy a basic schedule/guide that every visitor needs to cross out from their list, including the San Juan de los Reyes Monastery.

2. A theatricalized route in Toledo’s old quarter:



Let yourself go and wrapped with hundreds of legend that emerge within the old streets and corners, once the sun falls, represented by several actors. Professional interpreters that will bring back to life the romantic Bécquer or the solemn Templars whilst telling you fables and myths based in the city’s history.

3. Zip-lining in the San Martín Bridge:



The longer urban descend in Europe is in the middle of Toledo, waiting for you and to challenge those to feel eager to cross the Tajo river with a harness holding from a cables system. You can also cross the river by just walking on the bridge, but is not that fun. By the way, the organizers include stops to “tapear” in taverns throughout the city center, so you will feel eager to just reach the other point. Will vertigo or gluttony be the victor?

4. Escape the Burial House in Casarrubios:



Dare to enter this house and pass a day which starts with entering to a room in which figures and ghosts live if you are a victor and get to escape in less than 1 hour, a dinner, served by the horrific habitats of this enchanted mansion, will be waiting for you. Just check if you are capable to try a great meal between scares and jumps that will give you goosebumps.

5. Ride a horse in the Tiétar Valley:



In Iglesuela several of the noblest horses live and this is not only just a comment. They and the location will make everything easier for you to carry out your first equestrian route with an experience adorned by the riverside of Tiétar that continues with easy paths between autochthones trees. Seize this escapade to visit the Sierra of Gredos and spend a night in the modern cabins of the equestrian center.

6. Overfly Toledo with a paramotor:



A tandem flight with a paratrike is the perfect thing if the adventure you want to enjoy everything. From the first moment, you will have the complete city under your feet so you can appreciate the river that surrounds the old quarter and see the villages that defended the capital from conquests. Watch the Santa María Cathedral inside the limits marked by the wall and, of course, don’t miss the Alcazar towers.

7. Canoeing next to the Malpica Castle:



Row with the tranquility that will give you the waters of Pusa and Cedena in its final stretch to the Tagus. You will make a circular route from which to admire this fortification of Arab origin that presides over the town since the 10th century, reaching the islands of one of the most representative rivers of the peninsula.

8. Be a pilot for a day in Camarenilla:



Grant yourself the whim of skipping the years of formation of an air pilot and direct yourself a small plane, obviously with supervision. We do not want to underestimate the meticulous professional preparation that is needed to consider you a real pilot but it is the fastest formula to have those sensations in the air with which you always fantasize.

9. Drive a quad through the Hillocks of Toledo:



Inject adrenaline to your adventurous day climbed on a 50hp quad from Los Yébenes to know what the province's natural spaces are like. You will need a driver's license to be at the controls but you can always occupy the second place so as not to miss the roads leading to the slopes of the mountains.

10. Jump from a plane at 4,000 meters in height in Ocaña or Lillo:



Parachuting in the middle of Spain is possible in Toledo. In Ocaña and Lillo, you have the masters of the skies due to excellence and it is to these localities that you will have to go if you want to experience the free fall near Madrid since they are the only authorized points. Keep it clear while you are gathering the courage you need to throw yourself into the void during the 50 eerie seconds that pass until the parachute opens.
