Tierra Aventura is an ecotourism project whose main objective is to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life and economy of the indigenous communities that live in the Sierra Norte de Oaxaca through a sustainable adventure tourism model.

To do this, our expert guides in extreme activities organize scheduled excursions through the towns, beaches and mountain settings of the state. We take the tours through walks, guided tours of towns, thematic tours, canopy circuit excursions, mountain bike tours, among others.

In addition, for all those who visit us in the winter months, you will also have the opportunity to take one of our whale watching outings to see impressive gray and humpback whales up close.

Making the oldest traditions and customs of Mexico known to tourism is the best way to care for and protect both the natural landscapes of our region and the people who have lived in these places for generations. /p>

For nature and animal lovers, seeing a whale up close in its natural habitat can be one of the most important experiences of your life. At Tierra Aventura we take you on an excursion, we will do whale watching on the coasts of the Mexican Pacific in the state of Oaxaca.

Leaving from Mazunte, we have the boat and the guides that will take us to the sighting area. This excursion only takes place between the months of December to March, since these are the dates in which the gray and humpback whales migrate from the north to the Mexican Pacific coast.

On the boat we will get as close as possible. You cannot forget your camera because they will bring you an image that is unrepeatable and unique. Gray whales are the largest within this species.

Also enjoy an excursion along the coast and spend a day on our beaches.

At Tierra Aventura we invite you to discover an unknown Mexico that very few tourists know about in the Sierra Norte of the state of Oaxaca. To do this, we organize 1-day or multi-day excursions through different natural settings.

The Tierra Aventura guides work with scheduled excursions to the following mountain and nature destinations:

- Joint Towns: Llano Grande, Paso del Coyote, Cueva de La Iglesia, Cuajimoloyas, La Natividad, Amatlan and Latuvi.

- Sierra Mixteca: 2-day excursion in Santiago Apoala.

- Beach: Excursion along the Pacific coast in Mazunte.

These excursions are scheduled all year round. You can join the one that interests you the most.

On each tour we will do interpretive hiking, getting to know the flora and fauna of each place.

We are going to admire impressive waterfalls, enter some caves with original shapes and reach the tops of the highest mountains. Every step is an adventure.

If you likeridingor want to experience it for the first time, at Tierra Aventura we offer you an exciting adventure in the Sierra Norte of the state of Oaxaca.

We will organize a guided horseback ride for you in which you will be accompanied by specialized riders through the area of Latuvi, Lachatao until you reach Amatlán. We will pass through a forested area where nature will give us incredible images.< /p>

This route has always been a passageway for the indigenous people who had to cross from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific coast through the central valleys of Oaxaca. We will visit colorful towns and learn a lot about the communities that inhabit the region.

This tour lasts 1 day. It can also be done on a guided walk or complement your excursion in a 2 or 3-day package with visits to other towns in the Mancomunado Towns.

Our mountain biking expedition lasts 1 day. We will take advantage of the day to get to know the different Zapotec communities wandering along highways, country roads and some mountain routes.

The path begins at the famous ancient Tule tree. In a group and accompanied by an expert guide we will pedal along the ancient route of the Camino Real to Lachigolo and Tlacochahuaya where we will visit ancient churches and the archaeological site of Dainzu.

The tour ends in the town of Teotitlan del Valle, where we can learn about the typical craftsmanship of this place directly in its workshops.

We move to the town of Benito Juárez, where at the top of the mountain there is an incredible platform from where we are going to jump on a zip line that crosses over a ravine.

Feel like you are flying and experience the vertigo of descending at full speed above the void, leaving at your feet an incredible landscape of forests, flying above trees and abundant vegetation.

This zipline is operated by highly qualified personnel, and they use the best safety equipment.
