Tajo del Búho

At Tajo del Búho we have taken the hiking routes seriously. The surroundings of Archidona allow us to prepare several routes through its geographical features depending on the level of difficulty at which you want to venture. The Northeastern region of Malaga has a great variety of plant species (pine trees, wild olive trees, bushes...) and birds that we will see along the way, as well as trails with which to discover the natural landscape of the interior of the province.

The routes you can choose are:

• Hoz de Marín Trail: it is a path of medium difficulty and 19 kilometers long. We will walk for 4 hours along the side of the Marín stream, crossing a unique natural space in Malaga due to its native pine forest, a gallery forest and some singularities such as the outcrop of ophites (igneous rocks). The route ends in the Vega de Archidona and can be done by children from 8 years of age.

• Salinas lagoon routes: two similar routes through the large and small lagoons of the Salinas district. Surrounding Mount Conjuro and passing through the Archidona plain, the 14 and 21 kilometer routes have a medium-high difficulty and very high environmental interest.

• Sendero de Conjuro-La Hoya: to test your physique. Of high difficulty and with 9 kilometers full of unevenness and nature, we will climb to the top of Mount Conjuro and walk through the peri-urban park of the Sierra de Gracia, in addition to crossing the city of Archidona from north to south and the interior of La Hoya.

Are you in Archidona and want an adventure session in a zip line park? In Tajo del Búho we bring you closer to a pine tree park with dozens of zip lines, hanging bridges and climbing ropes in the Northeastern region of Malaga.

Here we organize games for all ages, because we divide the circuit into 3 different colors with their respective obstacles according to age and height:

• Green: for the little ones up to 8 years old, more or less. There are very simple bridges and low-altitude thiolines with which you will have a great time supervised by the instructors.

• Yellow: here the difficulty increases and is for children who are over 1.35 in height. Crossing from tree to tree is more complicated, so the fun for them will be greater.

• Red: it is the highest level, for over 12 years old. Here the Tibetan bridges, the vines, the walkways and even the tunnels are chilling and great for having an authentic adventure among the pine forests of Archidona.

The circuits are contracted separately, although it is possible to take a package with two of them in case you want to try the challenges of both.

The security of this park is maximum, in addition to the fact that we will give you a helmet and material to pass the tests. You bring comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear to run meters high without any problem.

The olive groves and pastures that surround Archidona invite us to explore them by bicycle, taking care of the environment and getting to know kilometers of nature in the interior of Malaga. At Tajo del Búho we organize bicycle routes through this area for 2 hours, just enough to make a rewarding physical effort and to do rural tourism.

Our departures are from the Archidona hostel and we travel for 22 kilometers the beautiful landscape of the Northeast region, full of pine trees, wild olive trees, thickets of rosemary and thyme and animals such as the fox, the wryneck, the red duck in the lagoons and the wild boar, among many others.

The path crosses the olive trees and the Andalusian pasture, where we surround Mount Conjuro and reach Salinas, which belongs to the municipal complex of Archidona. There are two lagoons, the Big one and the Small one, which we visited before returning the way we came until we reached the starting point.

You can bring your own bicycle, or we will give you one here, to follow our instructor in groups of more than 6 people. The difficulty of the route is medium, so you do not need great physical fitness to do it. And if you come with children, who are over 8 years old, they can also sign up for this route on wheels.
