At Rookin House Fishing we have a large fishing pond ideal for families. We aim to introduce beginners and children to the sport of fishing.

We have various fishing pitches located around the pond. We also make sure that it is well-stocked with plenty of rainbow trout available to catch. With a little luck, you could catch your dinner!

We supply fishing tackle and bait so you do not need to worry about anything. We aim to make your visit as hassle-free as possible.

Rookin House Karting is the only indoor karting circuit in the Lake District. We are proud to offer you a karting experience that cannot be compared to others.

We have a Rally Cross Circuit and organise our sessions as 5 practice laps followed by a series of 10 lap races. Do you think you are up for the challenge? Could you outrace your friends?

You will be impressed by our latest Honda powered karts that enable you to go even faster than before. Obviously, you are welcome to travel at your own pace. It´s important to have in mind that the faster you go, the track gets slippier!

Rookin House Paintball is situated on a farm house in the Lake District. Our large grounds provide the perfect setting for various paintballing missions.

Paintball requires wits, courage, careful planning and most importantly teamwork! Once the battle commences, the outcome of the game will depend on the team that works best together.

You will be briefed and trained by paintball experts before taking part so that you know how to handle your paintball marker properly. Then you must imagine yourself in the heart of a warfare situation. Your goal is to avoid being hit as you advance towards your mission target.

We supply all the necessary equipment on the day, so all you need to do is organise a team of people to accompany you on a fun day out.

Rookin House Quads specialises in quad biking adventures for children and adults. You will be instructed about quad bike safety and provided with a helmet and overalls before the fun starts. There are over 250 acres to explore, and all types of terrain to cover!

Our smallest quads, known as Mini quads, are suitable for 6 – 11 years old. Their engine power is limited so as to give children the chance to experience off-road driving within a controlled environment. We have junior quads for 12 – 15 years old. These quads are suitable for a 20 minute or 40 minute trek.

Our adult quads are Kawaski 360cc 4wd and we offer 3 trek lengths.  Within your trek depending on your ability we will cover fields and tracks including steep banks, river crossings, and various man made obstacles including a see saw and lots more.

20 minutes - this is a taster session just to see if you like it

40 minutes - ideal for those that have done some quad biking before but don’t feel confident enough to do the hour trek

60 minutes – This trek aims to take you over challenging terrain through our wood on Great Mell Fell with amazing views of Blencathra Mountain range.

Rookin House Horse Riding is an established equestrian centre that has been running for more than 20 years.

We are a member of the Association of British Riding Schools (ABRS) as well as an approved riding school branch of The Pony Club.

We offer a range of equestrian activities that can be adapted to suit all ages and abilities.

There is no better way to enjoy the natural beauty of the Lake District than horse trekking. We can organise anything from a short trek or lesson to a weekend riding holiday. Our director is in charge!

We have various horses and ponies to choose from, and each one has a different temperament enabling us to pick a suitable horse for you. The type of horse you will ride depends on your experience and preferences.

No previous experience is necessary! Enjoy of: Pony trekking, dressage, horse arena an fun. 

Our treks involve bridleways and quiet country lanes through fells and forests. Each trek is unique but the scenery is equally breathtaking.

Rookin House Archery is an established activity centre that has been operating successfully for more than 20 years.

You will be instructed by qualified Grand National Archery Society (GNAS) members. They want you to get the most out of your session. After a brief introduction to the sport, you will be free to try your luck. The aim of archery is to hit the target, specifically the inner ring also known as the bull´s eye.

Archery can also be competitive. You may challenge yourself, or compete against others to see who can hit the target the most.

At Rookin House Archery, we have indoor and outdoor facilities so that you can enjoy archery regardless of the weather!

Rookin House Canopy is an exciting adventure activity! We are located in the Lake District and you can enjoy a variety of high rope courses amid beautiful backdrops.

Our zip-line is an aerial slide across a pound. It´s become a very popular activity among our visitors. We recommend the zip-line for corporate and school groups as well as hen & stag parties. There´s nothing like encouraging people to take the plunge, except when it comes to your turn!

We also have a Jacob´s ladder, which is a great team challenge! It relies on good communication and trust. If you are scared of heights, it could be the perfect cure! The Jacob´s ladder is also a popular addition to our multi-activity adventure packages.
