Company Overview
La Senda wants you to enjoy nature and the rural environment in the Alto Sil Natural Area, in the surroundings of Caboalles de Abajo, in the province of León.
They offer you two options:
- Hiking. The Braña Collada area, in Asturias, offers different options for hiking and enjoying its beautiful landscapes. They have organized routes with a guide lasting up to four hours. The options are varied but without a doubt going through one of the forests in the area should be mandatory. In them you will find holly, oak or alder. As you pass through the different parts of the town on the route, you will be able to see and take photos of the typical granaries and pylons.
- Horse riding routes. They offer you the possibility of riding a horse for four hours, what they call a long tour of the Viveiro Lagoon; or if you prefer, a short route through Las Arregadas. During the tour you will ride a horse, being able to stop and stretch your legs at various points. At least two or four people will participate in these activities, with an age range between ten and sixty years old.
Which one do you choose?
Summary Hiking
La Senda offers you different hiking routes in the natural area of Braña de la Collada, in Asturias. Walking routes for a maximum of twenty people in which you will enjoy the towns in the area, the beautiful native forests with the possibility of observing birds of prey and animals. These routes take place between May and October.
From here we recommend the Braña Collada route. In the first section you will see the most typical buildings in the area: pylons and the impressive granaries. After passing the town you will reach a path towards Braña and walk through the meadow area where we will discover different plant species and their different uses. One part of the path runs through a forest full of oaks, pretty alders and large holly trees. Upon arriving at La Collada port you will enjoy the cabins that crown it and that are currently in use.
This route is about seven kilometers long and takes about four hours to travel, during which you will be accompanied by the guide. It is essential to wear appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes. A stop can be made to eat, thus increasing the time of the route.
Summary Horseback Riding
La Senda prepares horseback routes through the Braña de Caboalles and through Las Arregadas, in the province of Leon.
- Long routes. A four-hour route through the Viveiro Lagoon, in which you will soak up tradition and unique landscapes accompanied by horses. During the route there will be stops to stretch your legs. The route includes a visit to an old mining operation that is now in ruins. After passing through there you will go to a sheep pen. The routes of the route are varied, passing through areas of difficult access and unpaved tracks, along with narrow paths. You will pass through heather and broom forests, as well as birch trees enriching the path with color. More than halfway we will find the Chozo, restored by an association and from which you will have the best views of the border with Asturias. From there you will begin the descent and when you reach the last section of the path you will make a stop to regain strength and eat something.
- Short routes. A route through Las Arregadas that runs through a mixed forest and fields, which will allow you to contemplate the entire town. After passing through the ditch, you will cross the greenway and pass through the town again, passing through meadows. In one hour you will have completed the route. All La Senda routes are for at least two or four people between the ages of ten and sixty.
