Canoeing is very popular among our visitors. After kitting you out with a buoyancy aid, we will show you how to use your paddle correctly and sit in the canoe the right way round. Then you are welcome to steer your boat wherever you wish!

Keswick Adventure Centre Canoeing aims to give you a short introduction to canoeing before teaching you more advanced skills such as steering your canoe in the right direction. You will embark upon a very special lake session surrounded by beautiful scenery.

Our instructors are all fully-qualified and strive to make your lesson as much fun as possible. They will introduce games in order to get people working together and create a friendly competitive edge. For those who are not as confident you are welcome to canoe in twos, which also makes the canoe more stable and less likely to capsize.

Keswick Adventure Centre Canoeing also offers 1 – 7 day river expeditions in the Borrowdale Valley. If you would like to devise your own short break you are welcome to request more information and we will be happy to accommodate you if we can.

At Keswick Adventure Centre Rafting you not only get to experience rafting, but you must build your own raft before you can take to the water. It is a fantastic team-building exercise as you will have to design, build and paddle your very own vessel!

We only provide the list of equipment that you will need to build the raft and some basic instructions on tying knots. This is done so that each raft is original but works the same. It is a fun-packed session for all involved!

You can choose to build a traditional raft using wooden poles and barrels, or why not attempt to build a raft of coracles using pipes and canvas. The test takes place in the water; everyone waits nervously preying that their raft floats!

From our location you can reach the summit of Latrigg, Skiddaw and Blencathra. If you stay long enough, every peak within the Lake District is attainable.

Rock climbing is becoming more and more popular in recent times. Keswick Adventure Centre Climbing aims to bring people closer to nature; we want you to enjoy being in the great outdoors!

As the sport has evolved, it has brought new techniques making it safer and more accessible to everyone. We provide taster days for those who are curious about climbing and would like to find out more. Each session is conducted with a qualified and experienced instructor, who will motivate you throughout the day.

First you will be kitted-out with a safety harness and helmet, then you are ready to start climbing! For inexperienced climbers we will begin by moving over boulders and traversing along rocks and as your confidence increases, it will not be long before you are climbing higher than you ever thought possible!

Mountain biking can be adapted to suit a range of abilities. If you are an experienced rider or a complete beginner, we can organise a session to remember!

Keswick Adventure Centre Mountain Biking is situated next to the Coast to Coast cycle route in Keswick. We are home to some of the most scenic bike routes in the U.K. We will choose the best route to suit you! Plus, we can easily add some uphill steeps and downhill runs to any of the routes; it depends on you and what you are looking for.

We use specialised Hardrock bikes that make for a reliable and safe journey. Furthermore, you will be under constant supervision by one of our qualified and experienced instructors all the way.

At Keswick Adventure Centre Abseiling we host some incredible abseils thanks to our beautiful location, the Lake District National Park. The most spectacular is about 100 feet above the ground!

We welcome beginners as well as professional climbers. Plus, you can decide to combine abseiling with climbing so as to experience the sensation of climbing back up the rock face you have just abseiled down.

Many people also choose to wear a camera during their descent so as to prove to their disbelieving friends what they have accomplished. They will be impressed with your efforts!

Our team of professionals can also help you to arrange charity abseils. They will come along and assess the possibility of abseiling from your chosen venue, and give you a very competitive price if the abseil is considered viable.

Keswick Adventure Centre Canyoning, also known as ghyll scrambling among other things, is one of our most popular outdoor activities that people come back for time after time. You can stay dry or get as wet as you possibly want by following the many streams, becks and gorges available throughout the Lake District National Park. We describe it as ´caving with the roof off´.

You will not believe how much fun can be had climbing waterfalls and rock traverses, not forgetting jumping into plunge pools! We guide you all the way, either up Honister Ghyll or down Stoneycroft Ghyll. If you fancy, you can do both routes in one crazy day! Ask anyone who has done this activity and they will highly recommend it.

We provide everything you will need on the day such as waterproof overalls and a safety helmet, however, you will need a change of clothes. Be prepared to get VERY wet!
