Welcome to Ibex Outdoor in Devon. We offer quality instruction courses and coaching in a number of different adventure sports in the South West of England. With over 10 years experience of training and development within the outdoor industry in the UK and overseas, our driving force is our passion for the sports we pursue, combined with a love of seeing people learn and develop. We offer climbing and kayaking adventures.

Our adventures are suitable for families, individuals and small groups, as well as team building and management training for the corporate market.

Welcome to Ibex Outdoor Kayaking in Devon. We offer sea kayaking and white water kayaking adventures along the South Coast of Devon. It is a great craft to learn, paddling offers an unrivalled freedom to explore the many coasts and waterways of Devon.

Sea kayaking activity locations are sometimes dictated by the weather conditions. Our courses include:

• Introduction to Sea Kayaking: This course deals with weather and tide awareness, equipment, boat control and basic rescue skills. No previous experience is required.
• Sea Kayak Improver: This course builds on our introductory course, developing your paddling technique, planning, navigation and associated skills in line with your experience.
• Sea Kayak Expedition:  From a short exploration, to a multi-day foray along spectacular coastlines. Our expeditions are bespoke and tailored to meet your needs.
• BCU Courses: We provide a variety of British Canoe Union (BCU) Award Courses on demand.  In addition to sea kayaking, we can arrange courses in Open Canoe, White Water and Safety and Rescue disciplines.

The South West also offers some of the best white water kayaking in England. Our courses include:

• Introduction to White Water: Transfer the skills you have learned on flat water and break into this exciting discipline.
• White Water Improver: Develop your skills on this course. It is for those who are aiming to become more independent and confident in moving water environments.

Welcome to Ibex Outdoor Climbing in Devon. We offer rock climbing courses that are suitable for everyone, from beginners to those wanting to develop or revise more advanced techniques. Our courses include:

• Introductory Course: The perfect introduction to the sport, which covers equipment, technical and physical skills, different sectors of the sport, history and etiquette.
• Improver Course: This course builds on our introductory course, developing movement technique and technical skills in line with your experience.
• Technical skills: This course introduces basic ropework systems, focusing on the skills required for you to be able to ‘go it alone’ in a suitable single pitch climbing environment.
• Multi-Pitch Guiding: Guided rock climbing for those who have attended a Multi-Pitch Introduction or have equivalent experience.
• Learn to Lead: You will be introduced to the skills and systems needed to lead routes.
• Get Off The Ground: A course that combines all of our courses into a special weekly programme. It is designed to provide you with the skills and confidence you need to set-up and undertake single pitch climbs with similarly experienced climbers.

Welcome to Ibex Outdoor Hiking in Devon. Hiking is suitable for everyone and in a matter of minutes you can escape the crowds and trade the pressures of modern life for the serenity of the countryside. We offer:

• Introduction to Hill Walking: We will give you a great grounding in the basic skills needed to keep you safe and comfortable in the hills, including advice on what gear to wear and carry, safety in the hills, basic navigation and environmental awareness. We run this course on demand.
• Guided Walks: Theses walks are tailored to meet your needs. We can provide advice and tuition on equipment, areas, route selection, planning, and navigation.
• Hill Walking Navigation: This course includes tuition and practical experience in navigation skills used in an open hill or mountain environment.
• Advanced Navigation: This course focuses on the techniques for low visibility and night conditions, or those wanting to explore more challenging terrain.
