Welcome to Black Rock Outdoors Kayaking at Cobbs Cross Farm on a sheltered, private lake.

Our half-day sessions provide an ideal introduction to kayaking and the basic paddling techniques. We can also run advanced courses for experienced kayakers.

Kayaks are slim-line, closed deck boats that move smoothly through the water with a double bladed paddle. The sport is suitable for 8 years old+ and we cater for groups of 4 – 10 people.

We provide the specialist equipment and qualified instructors. In winter, we also provide wetsuits at no extra cost.

Be sure to bring a change of clothes for afterwards!

Welcome to Black Rock Outdoors Hiking. We specialise in moorland and mountain walking expeditions.

We supply qualified guides for groups wishing to explore the mountain and moorland areas in the UK, such as Ten Tors. We also provide Duke of Edinburgh Expedition Training.

Our excursions are suitable for groups of 4+ people and if you are experienced hikers we can take you to the most desolate areas! Our guides will provide adequate navigation training, including map reading and how to use a compass, as well as tailor your route to suit everyone in your group.

Welcome to Black Rock Outdoors Climbing.

We specialise in introductory rock climbing sessions for groups of 2 - 16 people.

Our sessions tend to take place on the limestone crags of Mendip Hills.

Rock climbing is suitable for everyone and we aim to cater for all those interested. It is a team building event that is ideal for:

We provide all the necessary equipment and recommend that you wear comfortable and warm clothing.

If the weather turns ugly, we will find a replacement activity at no extra cost.

Welcome to Black Rock Outdoors Archery, which is held at Cobbs Cross Farm.

We run our half-day target archery sessions for groups of 8 – 10 people. Archery is suitable for 9 years old+ and is an ideal event for:

• Birthdays
• Corporate Events
• Hen & Stag Parties
• Youth Organisations

Enjoy archery as a single event or combine it with another to make a multi-activity day package.

We provide the bows and arrows as well as friendly, expert tuition. There are no specific clothing requirements as long as you are comfortable.

Welcome to Black Rock Outdoors Caving.

Caving is one of our most popular and challenging activities that takes place under the Mendip Hills.

We choose which caves to explore according to your ability and previous caving experience. There are many different caving systems available, which present a variety of challenges. Our qualified and experienced caving instructors are adept at leading expeditions of people of all ages and abilities.

We provide:

• Waterproof overalls
• Helmets
• Headlamps

All we ask you to bring are walking boots or wellington boots.

We lead groups of 4 – 8 people at any one time and your session lasts approximately 2 – 2.5 hours. We also run full caving days!

Welcome to Black Rock Outdoors Mountain Biking on the Quantock or Mendip Hills. We organise mountain bike expeditions for groups of 4 – 8 people.

Our prime location provides a variety of different ability routes, enabling us to cater for children and adults.

You will travel over a variety of terrain, which includes uphill and downhill sections. A qualified instructor will lead the way and the emphasis is on having a fun and safe time.

We provide:

• Quality bikes with front suspension
• Fitted helmets that must be worn at all times

We recommend that you bring gloves and waterproofs just in case!

Mountain biking is a challenging sport and a degree of fitness is required in order to take part.

Welcome to Black Rock Outdoors Canopy! Our high ropes course is based at Cobbs Cross Farm and is very much a group activity.
