If you are looking to enjoy a relaxing or exhilarating canoeing expedition, or for BCU training, Somerset Adventures Canoeing offers the canoeing experience for you.  In the southwest you will find both fantastic whitewater rivers for the advanced, and pleasant tranquil still waters for beginners. Accompanied by our qualified canoe instructors you will be able to enjoy Canadian canoeing whether it be tackling the rapids or acquiring new skills.

We offer the following canoeing experiences:

• Introduction to canoeing: A great introduction to this paddling sport. Suitable for both large and small groups.
• BCU 1 Star Canoe and Kayak course: This is a one day course that will provide you with the basic skills and techniques for paddling a canoe on flat water.
• BCU 2 Star Canoe and Kayak course: This is a 2 day course designed to help paddlers improve and acquire the skills required for flat water paddling.
• Introduction to white water canoeing: An exhilarating step into the world of white water paddling, suitable for those who are already confident on flat water.

There are many of fantastic places to kayak in and around the Somerset area! Let Somerset Adventures Kayaking take you out for a fantastic paddling experience, or sign up for one of their BCU training courses and become competent and confident with a paddle!

We offer the following kayak programmes:

• Introduction to Kayaking: this is an enjoyable taster/introductory session to the wonderful world of kayaking. During this course you will learn the basic skills for this sport and all the equipment you need will be provided. You will not need to have any previous experience as you will learn to paddle in calm waters.

• BCU 1 Star kayak course: This is a 1 day, entry level course from the British Canoe Union for kayaking. The course allows you to learn how to paddle and successfully guide a kayak, the type of equipment you will need to use and even try several different crafts. You will also learn self rescue tecniques so you will not go completely unprepared to the lake.

• BCU 2 Star kayak course: This is a 2 day course from the British Canoe Union for kayaking and canoeing. With this course you will improve your paddleing skills in sheltered waters and you will even realize a journey and try both kayaks and canoes. We will help you gain confidence on the craft so you can practice alone and move on to the next level.

• Introduction to white water kayaking: an exhillarating introduction to some of the best white water rivers in the Southwest. Suitable for paddlers who are already confident on flat water. You will paddle down the river Dart while you learn to handle a kayak in moving water. We can make this course suitable to your skills and you will have plenty of time to practice before setting on the journey.

Somerset Adventures Mountain Biking offers the fabulous outdoor activity of mountain biking for individuals and groups alike looking to get outdoors and discover the world on 2 wheels!

We welcome individuals, families and groups of all skill levels from the complete novice to the experienced rider and we bespoke each session to our riders in order to provide them with an entertaining and challenging session.

We offer an excellent introductory course for off road riding in the Quantock Hills which is ideal for anyone that is eager to learn or improve their off-road mountain biking skills.
All off our instructors are MIAS qualified, friendly and enthusiastic about sharing their favourite outdoor activity with you.

Archery is more popular than ever and we at Somerset Adventures Archery are proud to deliver archery from our tranquil woodland archery range on the Blackdown Hills near Taunton and at our indoor range in Taunton. Archery is available all year round so come and join us for a fantastic session that hits the bulls eye!

We offer you several modalities and courses so you can choose the one that best adapts to you:

• Bespoke Archery experience: friendly competitions, an introductory session to the right way to hold the arch and lots and lots of fun so you can have a really nice day with us.

• Open Archery sessions: Listen to the overall instructions, pick the arch and shoot! Make this experience double fun by also hiring our axe throwing activity. 

• Introduction to Archery: take part on this course where you will be taught how to shoot individually. This course is ideal both for beguinners and for those archers who want to perfect their tecnique. 

• Group session: hire this session, up to 40 people, and make your event very special! Moreover, if you have access to a field at least 100m long, we can bring the archery range to you!

We offer qualified and experienced archery instructors who will be able to help you perfect your technique in no time! We can accommodate groups of archers of all ages, sizes and abilities and this is a grand way to enjoy and outdoor activity in good company while even getting some friendly competition going.

Come to Somerset Adventure for a wonderful underground adventure with our caving activity.

This fanstastic activity involves exploring hidden depths and discovering the caverns, passages and wondrous formations of caves formed many thousands of years ago. Going underneath the ground is a really fun experience, and you will be in safe hands with fully qualified instructors. Our caving activities take place in specially selected caves on the Mendip hills and also in Devon. Experience a whole new world underground!

With us you can do an open caving session, where you will go with other people and explore one of the best caves in the region, or you can hire a bespoke session, so you can bring your family or your hen party under the rocks of a series of caves tailored to your needs. 

We welcome groups, families, individuals and anyone who would like to experience the excitement of caving. You can also combine more than one activity to create your own multi-activity day of adventure for you and your family.
