"My husband and I loved this experience. It was the first time either of us had done anything like this, but the staff gave clear instructions and made sure everyone got the most out of it. We were able to interact with the dogs freely and it was a small group which made the experience feel more intimate. The staff were very accommodating as we got lost and missed our booked session but were able to join a later activity."

Tips if you are going to do Dog Sledding in France

Dog sledding towards the snow-capped peaks brings back a forgotten pleasure. This activity, which was once a means of transport for our ancestors has now become a mere memory. However, it gives us access to an important, almost inaccessible facet of nature. Here, we give you 5 reasons among many others which attest why such an activity should be particularly enjoyed in France.

1. It's a hike like no other



You have often heard of or practised hikes of any type, but a mushing excursion is quite a unique experience as you will be in contact with nature, the fauna and the flora of the region but also in close relation with the dogs, which is like a dream. It takes you back to the world of fairy tales as you delve into a part of your childhood to relive happiness that you thought was lost forever. Let's say you want to spice up your visit to the Northern Alps - choose a dog sled ride! In the company of a knowledgeable musher, you will discover the alpine landscape of the North of France, in the bowels of the forests of Avoriaz in the most unique way. From the Col de la Joux verte in Morzine, you will be in contact with the majestic huskies of our partners. This is an experience you won't forget.

2. Discover magnificent landscapes all over France



Our partners will reserve the most interesting and captivating routes for you so that you will be in the heart of nature. You can immerse yourself in the fauna and flora of Chastreix-Sancy, at an altitude of 1400 m on the western slope of the Sancy Mountains; towards Les Rousses-Jura or towards Contamines-Alpes du Nord in Haute Savoie, near Chamonix. That's not all! You can also book your excursion to the Southern Alps - Les Orres, Puy Saint Vincent, Réallons, Vars, etc. Our partners cover the whole of France so it's up to you to choose the region you want to discover in winter or in summer!

3. You can become an experienced musher



It is not enough to live this experience just once! If you want, you can also become professionals in the field. Our partner centers offer you this opportunity to master the skill that mushing is. You will learn the techniques to give the best directions to the dogs; you will feed them while forging a relationship of trust with them. In addition, you will be introduced to the history of this activity by discovering the famous stories that surround it! All this, in a short period!

4. It's a group adventure



The sleigh ride is much more fun when it is in a group setting. So, you can make it an excellent activity to celebrate Christmas, birthdays, bachelor parties or bachelorette parties as all occasions are suitable for this sport.
