Expert mountaineering by Corredor del Pico Veleta

Lovers of the mountains and snow sports, do you fancy a climb to the Veleta Corridor? I address mountaineering experts directly, since it is an activity that requires expertise and experience both in climbing and in climbs with ice axes and camprones. Of course, following the recommendations of our guide in every step we take.

For safety reasons, we design the activity for 1 or 2 people. We start our journey in the Hoya de la Mora, close to the Pradollano ski resort, to make a relatively simple ascent to the Veleta Positions about 500 meters of elevation difference.

At this point we have two options, depending on the respite that the weather gives us. Or, go on foot along the Veredón, a narrow path whose difficulty increases considerably when the snow accumulation is considerable. Or, overcome this section of the path by abseiling.

The next challenge is to make a crossing on foot on a steep slope that will make us complete another 300 meters of our route through the Canuto del Veleta. We finished by climbing the climbing path known as Fidel Fierro to reach our long-awaited summit of Veleta.

As we consider you active members of these mountain practices, we ask you to bring the equipment that you consider most suitable to complete this winter challenge: walking sticks, camproons, ice axes, snowshoes, thermal and warm clothing, gloves, hat, a backpack with water and food, etc.

We also have the option of renting the equipment if you do not have it. Now, we will expand this equipment by carrying technical rescue material during the excursion in case avalanches occur and which includes the probe, a shovel and avalanche beacons.
