Becoming a Yachtmaster is not easy, but we will provide you with coaching and assessment of all disciplines required, from mooring to blind navigation.
However, in order to be able to complete the course and pass the exam later on, you need to have at least the following pre-course experience:
It is important to keep in mind that, even if the course is held and the exam is approved, to navegate freeky you need to hace one of these requirements:
- 50 sail days (5 as a skipper)
- 2500 miles including 5 passages over 60 miles (2 as a skipper)
- up to half of this can be conducted in non-tidal waters
It is also recommended to have navigation skills at least to Coastal Skipper standard and a sound knowledge of meteorology, safety regulations and boat handling at all weathers.
