But paddleboarding on the sea involves challenges too. That’s why we run introductory sessions to SUP at sea, covering topics from equipment and planning, to paddling, rescue and dealing with tides, currents and waves. We will choose a location on the Norfolk coast, for example Horsey Beach.
We only take people with around 10 hours’ SUP experience under their belts, because we’ll be teaching some complex techniques during the session and not worrying about paddleboarding basics. We keep group sizes small, and have a minimum age of 16 in place. The ability to swim 50 metres is also a requirement.
Despite the challenges you can place your full confidence in us. Every one of our instructors who run these coastal sessions is highly qualified and experienced, some of them even having competed in international SUP events.
You’ll use one of our boards (unless you contact us in advance to arrange bringing your own), paddles and life jackets. We recommend a wetsuit, so wear your own or ask about hiring one from us. Please bring all you need to spend 4 hours in and around the water and to get home comfortably!
