Kayak route in the Escullos NP Cabo de Gata

We invite you to visit one of the most beautiful coasts in Spanish territory: the coast of Almería you will be fascinated by the beautiful ecosystem that you can see during the route. You can do the route accompanied or alone if what you prefer is to disconnect and have time for yourself.

For this activity we offer you everything you need: the rental of an individual or two-seater kayak, individual paddles, life jackets, and you will always be accompanied by technical instructors specializing in water sports. You do not need to have any type of experience, the route will be done calmly and at the pace of the participants. Likewise, the instructors will give you brief instructions at the beginning of the route about the operation of these boats.

The departure point will be the Escuellos pier, located in Cabo de Gata in the Andalusian town of Níjar. We travel through the saline waters that bathe the coasts of southern Spain, passing through beautiful coves:

• The tomato cove
• The small cove
• The big cove

These coves will remind you of Caribbean settings due to their crystal-clear waters and rocky systems anchored in the sea, which we will also pass through. In Cala Tomate we will make a stop so you can snorkel. And, once you reach this point, you will return to the starting point, in the town of Los Escuellos.

You will be accompanied by the sea breeze that surrounds all the coves of Almería, and you will be able to see a great variety of marine fauna, among which we highlight sea sponges, mollusks, crustaceans and the occasional cetacean.

As you can see, this two-hour maritime route takes place throughout the entire Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park.
